In the biennial event where about 1,200 companies from 40 countries are expected to participate, HHI Group will showcase 38 leading shipbuilding technologies categorized into four sections; Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, Smart Technology, Green Technology and Marine Equipment Solution.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Group

HHI Group will display the latest technological developments, featuring new and advanced ships and offshore floater models including an oceanographic research vessel, the world’s largest cylindrical Goliat FPSO and an 84,000 m3 LPG carrier.

Smart Technology

In this section, HHI highlights recent technological solutions to further solidify its leadership in the shipbuilding industry by displaying a variety of fuel-saving and high-efficiency solutions, gas-fuelled and smart ship technologies and environmentally friendly systems.

HHI will also make public debut of its two key solutions - SkyBenchTM and Connected Smart Ship. SkyBenchTM is HHI’s patented cargo loading expansion technology for containerships. It enables a 19,000 TEU containership to load an additional 450 container boxes without physical enlargement by installing a sliding accommodation block over the container bays. Connected Smart Ship provides a wide range of ship voyage information including location, weather and ocean current data, and onboard equipment and cargo status data through sensors in the ship.

Green Technology

Hi-Ballast System, Eco-Ballast System and NoNOx SCR System are part of products and services emboding HHI’s passion to turn its creativity into real products and services. Hi-Ballast System can treat 8,000 m3 seawater by filtering and sterilizing through electrolysis while Eco-Ballast System sterilizes seawater intake using ultraviolet rays. NoNOx SCR System is a selective catalyst reduction technology to reduce NOx in the exhaust gas of engines. The system can reduce NOx up to 95 % and meet IMO’s Tier III regulation.

Marine Equipment Solution

As a leading marine equipment supplier with a wealth of experiences and capabilities, HHI will display the best marine equipment that can be fitted for all types of ships and tailored to clients’ needs including Hyundai ACONIS-DS (Advanced Control and Integration System) and HiMSEN Engine.
