Crowley Awarded 100 CSA Environmental Certificates
During the tenth-annual Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA) awards ceremony held in Washington, D.C., this week, Crowley Maritime Corporation was awarded 100 Certificates of Environmental Achievement for 2013 – more than any other company in the running. The certificates were awarded to Crowley-owned and operated vessels for having worked at least two consecutive years without an environmental incident. Additionally, Crowley was also presented with a membership award in recognition of five years of support to the CSA.

Caterpillar Offer 3500C Tier 3 Marine Power Solutions
Caterpillar Marine Power Systems is pleased to announce starting in January 2012, the legendary Cat 3500C marine engines will enter full production meeting United States EPA Tier 3 regulations. Cat 3500C Tier 3 compliant offerings will include propulsion, auxiliary and diesel electric propulsion (DEP) engines. All Cat 3500C offerings will not require after treatment modules to meet Tier 3 regulations as a result of incorporating innovative fuel and air system modifications into the design of the engines. “We’re pleased to offer our customers impacted by the United States EPA regulations a timely, comprehensive power solution that doesn’t require after treatment or sacrifice performance,” said Bob Hallengren, Caterpillar Marine Power Systems Product and Application Manager.
MSC Delivers Patrol Boat to Iraqi Navy
Military Sealift Command-chartered heavy lift crane ship MV Ocean Titan delivered the second of a new class of U.S.-built patrol boats to Manama, Bahrain. The 115-ft boat is destined for Iraq, where it will be turned over to the Iraqi navy and used primarily to patrol coastal waters and provide security for the country's oil platforms. This is the second of an expected 15 identical vessels being built for and delivered to the Iraqi navy in support of U.S. and Iraqi efforts to reconstitute Iraq's ability to enforce its maritime sovereignty and security. The Iraqi navy acquired the boats as part of the U.S. Navy's Foreign Military Sales Program. "Our foreign partners rely on the U.S. Navy's expertise in combatant craft acquisition," said Rear Adm.
Signal Delivers Two Rigs for Diamond Offshore
Signal International, L.L.P. announced the recent completion and return to service of two Diamond Offshore rigs, the Ocean Titan and the Ocean America. The LeTourneau Class 64 jackup, Ocean Titan, entered Signal’s East Pascagoula, Mississippi yard for modifications and repairs on 06 March 2009 and departed on 14 April 2009. Meanwhile, another Diamond rig, the eight-column semisubmersible Ocean America, spent 97 days on Signal’s Dry Dock at Port Arthur, Texas undergoing periodic inspection procedures and customer-planned modifications.
