Liebherr Delivers Mobile Harbor Crane to Port Esbjerg

Last week, Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH delivered a new LHM 800 High Rise mobile harbor crane to its customer Port Esbjerg.The delivery took place shortly after an incident in the Kiel Canal, in which an LHM 600 ordered by Port Esbjerg was damaged while passing under the Holtenau High Bridge.Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH said it sent service engineers and technical specialists to assess the situation on site and to assist with the recovery immediately after the incident. DOT Announces $703M in Port Funding; 41 Projects in 22 States

Crane Barge Adds Power, Flexibility in New York Harbor

A new Liebherr LHM 600 Mobile Harbor Crane has been in operation in the Port of New York and New Jersey since November 2019. Metal recycler Sims Metal Management places its LHM 600 on a floating barge, which offers the company various advantages.Firstly, the barge solution offers enormous flexibility in terms of location. The company operates two different terminals in the New York Harbor. In addition to a terminal in the Port of Newark Sims Metal Management also operates the terminal of Claremont in Jersey City, N.J., which is about 10 kilometers linear distance.

Port of Mobile to be Deepened to 50 Feet

Port Improvements Continue in Mobile

DP World Berbera Orders 8 RTG Cranes

Liebherr Container Cranes and DP World Berbera have signed a contract for the supply of eight RTGs for DP World’s terminal in Berbera, Somaliland. The cranes are due to be ready for operation before the end of 2020.The high performance, variable speed diesel RTGs are six containers plus a truck lane wide and will stack one over five containers high. The machines are supplied with DGPS autosteering and stack profiling. Like all Liebherr RTGs, the machines incorporate Liebherr’s eight rope reeving no-sway-system.

Yılport Awaits 2 STS, 6 E-RTG Cranes

Yilport Puerto Bolivar, Ecuador’s first deep-sea terminal, will soon have a new fleet of ship-to-shore (STS) and electrified rubber tired gantry (E-RTG) that set sail from Oita, Japan, on December 30, 2019.Yilport said in a press release that the cranes will arrive on January 27, 2020, and will be part of a fleet comprising 6 STS and 18 ERTG cranes.The cranes forms the first shipment of overall 6 new STS cranes and 18 E-RTG cranes order of the Terminal. Liebherr Delivers New LHM 800 to Bronka Port

Swiss multinational equipment manufacturer Liebherr has delivered  mobile harbor crane LHM 800 to  Russian port Bronka. It was carried by mv Trina. This is the second crane of such model in the port.The LHM 800 is the most powerful mobile harbor crane in the world with a lifting capacity of over 300 tons.Owing to its huge dimensions the crane handles large vessels with a breadth of up to 22 rows of containers, said the company.The unique crane will be set in operation within a month after customs clearance, assembling works, testing, registration procedure and insurance.After that port Bronka is able to handle heavy lifts up to 500 tons by tandem of cranes (LHM 800) what proves its status of the project logistics center in the North-West of Russia.

Konecranes Retrofits Crane in DP World Liège

Konecranes Port Services, the team of crane and lifting engineers, software developers and product technicians, will retrofit electrification to a Model 2 Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor crane in DP World’s Liège Container Terminal in Belgium, lowering the terminal’s local emissions and noise.The Port of Liège, strategically located along the Meuse river in eastern Belgium,  is the third-largest river port in Europe, directly linked to both Antwerp and Rotterdam.The DP World Liège Container Terminal (DPW LCT) is the only trimodal terminal in Wallonia, operating four barges to Antwerp every week.The Konecranes Gottwald Model 2 Mobile Harbor Crane was purchased in 2016 and has been working at DPW LCT’s South Terminal.

WACT Invests in Equipment

The West Africa Container Terminal (WACT) located in Onne Port, has invested in two new Mobile Harbor Cranes, in response to continued volume growth in the Eastern Nigerian market.APM Terminal, who operates WACT, said that this is in addition to an investment of approximately USD2.5 million already made this year.The two Liebherr LHM 550 Mobile Harbor Cranes (MHCs) are due for deployment in July this year and will further boost the efficiency and cargo handling operation of the terminal, improving service delivery and reducing vessel waiting time. This year, WACT has already invested around USD2.5 million in 10 purpose-built terminal trucks, three reach stackers and an empty container handler, as well as terminal infrastructure and manpower development.

A new Liebherr LHM 420 Mobile Harbor Crane was officially inaugurated in the middle of February in Passau, Bavaria. The new machine in the port of Passau is the first Liebherr Mobile Harbor Crane to comply with the new exhaust gas purification stage V.Around ten years after the opening of the trimodal port location in Passau-Schalding, bayernhafen has once again significantly expanded its infrastructure. US' Largest Mobile Harbour Crane at Port Canaveral

Port Canaveral has taken the delivery of mobile harbor crane - 270-foot-tall Liebherr LHM 600 - the largest of its kind in the US.The huge LHM 600 crane arrived at the port on January 18, 2018 aboard the “Happy Dover”, a heavy load carrier and  will be operational in the second quarter of 2019. It joins two 270-foot-tall ship-to-shore cranes in service at the port since 2014.The Canaveral Port Authority purchased the mobile harbor crane to accommodate the Port’s growing diverse cargo throughput, adding handling flexibility and extended lift capability, including heavy cargo and space components for the Port’s cargo operations.“Port Canaveral has added a new dimension to our harbor and cargo management capability,” Port CEO Capt.
