Sines Port Delegation Visits Yantian Port

The Port of Sines, a first largest artificial port of Portugal and a deep water port, has received a delegation from the Yantian Port, accompanied by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Lisbon.Aiming at discussing cooperation possibilities between the two ports, the delegation was particularly interested in the logistic potential of the Sines complex, highlighting the capacity to attract new investments, not only within the port jurisdiction area, but also at ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logical Zone.We must enhance that the Port of Yantian is one of the ports of call comprised on the weekly service connecting the Port of Sines to the Far East through the Sines Container Terminal -Terminal XXI.The Port of Yantian is the main port of Shenzhen province…

Abu Dhabi Ports Try to Lure Chinese Businessmen

Abu Dhabi Ports - the master developer, operator and manager of ports and Khalifa Industrial Zone in the Emirate - presented the integrated offerings of Khalifa Port and Kizad at an exclusive business event in Abu Dhabi. Organised by Abu Dhabi Ports in association with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to UAE and the Chinese Business Council, the invitation-only event for Chinese businessmen attracted over 80 top Chinese businessmen from across the UAE. The value proposition represented by Kizad, the integrated trade and industrial hub of Abu Dhabi, and Khalifa Port, the maritime gateway to Abu Dhabi, were detailed in the half-day event titled “Opportunities in Abu Dhabi―A Global Trade, Manufacturing and Logistics Hub”.

SNA Meeting Offers China Navy Insights

Though China’s navy is generally a mystery to the west, and its build-up and intentions are often characterized as lacking transparency, a Chinese navy official insists that the country’s intentions are purely defense orientated. In translating an explanation from a superior officer, Liu Hongwei, Senior Captain, Naval Attache at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the U.S., explained: We will not fire the first shot, but when fired upon, the aggressor will not fire a second shot. Liu Hongwei was the featured luncheon speaker at a Surface Navy Association’s (SNA) Greater Washington Chapter luncheon, held July 24, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City.
