Solstad Offshore Sells Six Offshore Vessels. Completes Fleet Trimming Program

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad Offshore has sold six more vessels, wrapping up its fleet 'right-sizing' plan announced in 2020.As previously reported, back in 2020, Solstad Offshore said that, as part of its restructuring agreement, it would "right-size" its fleet to make it more competitive, with a plan to divest 37 vessels "over a period of time," and has been gradually offloading the unneeded tonnage ever since.In a statement on Thursday, the Norwegian offshore vessel owner said that its subsidiary Solstad Rederi had sold six vessels of which four PSV’s Sea Trout…

Solstad Ships Dock at Gibdock

Norway’s Solstad Offshore has returned to Gibdock for the conversion and drydocking of the 84m long, 4500 dwt Platform Support Vessel Normand Vester. This follows the conversion of the Normand Trym and Normand Vibran at the Gibraltar yard, successfully completed for the same owner last year. While the Normand Vester project is similar in scope to these earlier conversions, there are some differences. Solstad Offshore Converted by Gibdock

Solstad Offshore is redeploying two platform supply vessels as potable water and fuel oil carriers to service Brazil’s offshore rig market for Petrobras, after completion of a major conversion project at Gibdock. The four week project saw the 2006-built Normand Trym (3,326 dwt) in drydock and the 2008-built Normand Vibran (3,376 dwt) alongside at the Gibraltar yard, in order that mud tanks on each vessel could be converted to store 1500m3 of fresh water storage, with other tanks converted for 800m3 of fuel oil carriage.

Solstad Offshore Installs Autoload Onboard Stability

Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) announced that their Norwegian Dealer, Coastdesign, Norway (CDN), has received 10 new orders from Solstad Offshore ASA for Autoload onboard stability software. Installations will be onboard vessels; Normand Jarl, Normand Drott, Normand Titan, Normand Trym, Normand Atlantic, Normand Borg, Normand Mjolne, Normand Draupne, Normand Skarven and Normand Seven. Autoload is currently installed onboard 23 Solstad vessels. Normand Seven, delivered to Solstad Offshore in July, is the largest offshore construction vessel (OCV) ever built by Ulstein Verft in Norway. It is a Vik-Sanvik VS 4220 OCV design and was voted Ship of the Year at the 2007 Norshipping Tradeshow in Norway. The vessel is 130m long and 28m wide with a bridge at a size of 400m2.
