BIMCO Declares Winners of Its 2015 Awards
Last night in Hamburg, BIMCO President Philippe Louis-Dreyfus chose to give public recognition to all seafarers who have been â and still are â involved in rescuing people in distress at sea. Mr. Louis-Dreyfus awarded the BIMCO Presidentâs Award to Columbia Shipmanagement Hamburg, for their âoutstandingâ work in rescue operations involving migrant boats in the Mediterranean. He asked Captain Horber from Columbia Shipmanagement to accept the award on behalf of their crews, but also on behalf of all seafarers who risk their lives in rescue operations. Shipdex Course Held at Korean Maritime University
The Korean Maritime University (KMU) and the Korean Marine Electronics Industry Promotion Association (MEIPA) received a one day technical seminar about Shipdex and the process of importing Shipdex data into SpecTecâs Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), AMOS. AMOS for MAN PrimeServ Academy
MAN Diesel & Turbo reinforces its long-standing collaboration with SpecTec Group, selecting AMOS software as assisting training tool to be used at the MAN PrimeServ Academy in Copenhagen. With the intent to further improve its hands-on training courses, MAN Diesel & Turbo has chosen AMOS (CMMS platform owned and provided by SpecTec Group since 1985) as a teaching tool to show students how to manage and optimize the process of maintenance, inspection and spare part purchase on board vessels. The AMOS database for this project has been created automatically by importing MAN Diesel & Turbo engine data which is standardized in accordance with the Shipdex protocol (www.shipdex.com).

Amos Shanghai Project Makes Strides
Shanghai based SpecTec office announces the successful signature of AMOS installation project to Shanghai Jinjiang Shipping Co. Ltd (referred to as JJ Shipping herein). The collaboration agreement was started in 2012, with an initial AMOS installation order of 8 ships. The installation project is about Maintenance, Purchase and Stock Control AMOS module: a user friendly application of AMOS Software aimed at centralizing the maintenance and purchase orders within the fleet, displaced in the different areas all around the world, and connected to the Companyâs Head Office. The module keeps the Shipsâ Stock items under control as well, guaranteeing a saving on purchase costs. SpecTec will install AMOS software on the 8 ships, scheduled for 2013.

SpecTec Continues to Grow in Middle East
SpecTec in The Middle East has announced the signing of a first contract with Mubarak Marine LLC. The contract which was agreed early in July is for the supply of AMOS2 Software. It includes one full office installation for the Mubarak Marineâs headquarter in Dubai and five Vessel installations. The software is expected to be installed onboard five Offshore Tugs vessels, in order to reduce operational complexity related to the Planning Maintenance System, help decrease the costs of the Procurement actions and give the due IT support to Dry Dock operations. COSL Installs AMOS Software
China Oilfield Services Limited ďźCOSL) has agreed a deal to implement the fleet management software AMOS from SpecTec Asia Pacific East Ltd across three units of its fleet. The two parties have signed a contract which includes the supply of AMOS software suite, databases and associated consultancy services. AMOS is going to be installed onboard a 3000 meter semi-submersible drilling platform (COSL 981), delivered in 2011, as well as onboard two jack-up drilling rigs (HYSY936 and HYSY942). COSL is the leading integrated oilfield services provider in the offshore China market. Its services cover each phase of offshore oil and gas exploration, development and production.

SpecTec has appointed Evan Efstathiou as Executive Director of SpecTec Americas. Mr. Efstathiou has worked in Veson Nautical as the Director of Client Services for over 3 years, and he has cooperated with SpecTec in many projects, including one that was highly successful signed with Hyproc.
