BV Performs Remote Survey for Harbor Tug in Singapore

Bureau Veritas Marine Singapore (BV), in collaboration with PSA Marine,  completed a remote marine survey for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual fuel harbor tug, PSA Aspen. Autonomous Harbor Tug Tested in Singapore

PSA Marine Buys Peruvian Towage Co

Singapore towage and pilotage company PSA Marine has moved into the South American market with the acquisition of Tramarsa Flota, a Peruvian towage company.Tramarsa Flota and its subsidiaries have been acquired from Grupo Romero. Headquartered in Lima, Tramarsa Flota offers towage, pilotage, launch boat and offshore services in 10 major ports along the Peruvian coastline. It owns 45 vessels, including 17 tugs, 23 launches and five support vessels for diving activities and other marine services.The stock purchase agreement was signed in Lima, Peru, on February 12, 2020.“We are delighted to welcome Tramarsa Flota to our PSA Marine global family. PaxOcean Lays Keel for RAmparts 2800-DF

Singapore based construction specialist of rigs, semi-submersibles and specialised offshore vessels PaxOcean held the keel laying ceremony of PSA Marine’s first dual fuel ship-handling tug  at its facility in Zhuhai, China.Earlier, Robert Allan, the designer of LNG tugs, has been selected to design the very first RAmparts 2800-DF for PSA Marine.Peter Chew, Managing Director and Lim Bock Kee, Senior General Manager (Special Projects) of PSA Marine attended the ceremony.Robert Allan designed the RAstar 4000-DF for Østensjø Rederi, Norway and RAstar 3800-DF for Ningbo Port, China. The cooperation between Robert Allanand PSA Marine began in 2002, with the design of Z-Tech tug series.PSA Marine is a marine services provider with flagship operations in Singapore.

PSA Marine Orders LNG-fueled Harbor Tug

Wärtsilä said it has been contracted to design and equip one of PSA Marine (Pte) Ltd's newest harbor tugs. Operating on liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel and incorporating fuel efficiency features, the harbor tug, which will be built by PaxOcean Shipyard, will be aligned with the maritime industry’s increasing emphasis on environmental impact. The order with Wärtsilä, booked in March 2018.The 28-meter long, 50-metric-ton bollard pull harbor tug will operate with two Wärtsilä 20DF dual-fuel engines running primarily on LNG fuel.

PSA Marine to Provide LNG FSRU Services in Bangladesh

Summit Power International (SPI), Singapore, announced that its subsidiary, Summit LNG Terminal has awarded a 15-year contract to PSA Marine Bangladesh, a subsidiary of PSA Marine. Under the contract, PSA Marine Bangladesh will provide berthing, mooring, pilot and personnel transfer services to LNG ships calling at Summit LNG FSRU terminal, with its three escort tugboats, one fast crew boat and one offshore supply vessel. The award of this contract marks a significant milestone for PSA Marine and commencement of a long-term partnership with SPI. Together with Summit LNG, PSA Marine Bangladesh targetsto commence operations in early 2019.

PSA Marine Expands into Middle East

PSA Marine Qalhat SAOC (PSAMQ), a joint venture company formed between PSA Marine (Pte) Ltd (PSA Marine) and Golden Dunes International LLC (GDI), will commence towage operations for Oman LNG LLC (OLNG) in Sur, Oman on 11 January 2015. The contract will be for a period of 10 years. OLNG, a joint venture between the Omani Government (51%), Shell (30%) and other notable global energy players, is currently Oman’s only exporter of liquefied natural gas. Four newly-built 65-tonne bollard pull tugs were delivered ahead of commencement date to support PSAMQ’s towage Mr Peter Chew, Managing Director of PSA Marine commented, “PSA Marine is honoured and pleased to be given this opportunity to provide towage services for OLNG.

Statement from IMC on Selendang Ayu Incident

With deep regret, by late Friday night, IMC had formally accepted that the six seafarers who remain missing following the crash of a United States Coast Guard’s rescue helicopter must now be presumed dead. Peter Chew, Group Managing Director of IMC made a statement through the Joint Command Information Centre following the Coast Guard’s announcement that the Search and Rescue operation was halted by nightfall on Friday. IMC continues to mourn its missing men and is doing all it can for their families and loved ones. Frederick Chavalit Tsao, the IMC Chairman, arrived in Alaska on Saturday morning to see the crew of the Selendang Ayu and meet all involved in the emergency operations. On Sunday he was in Juneau to meet Admiral James C.
