Navy Awards Contract for Energy and Structural Repairs

Environmental Chemical Corp. is being awarded a $38,228,490 firm-fixed-price contract for energy and structural repairs to the consolidated submarine operations, Building 178, at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.  The work to be performed provides for structural repairs and modernizes Building 178 to create a consolidated state-of-the-art shipyard industrial material handling facility. The project goal is to provide 25,062 million metric British Thermal Units of annual energy savings and achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver certification. Work will be performed in Kittery, Maine, and is expected to be completed by December 2014.  Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website with nine proposals received.  The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (N40085-12-C-1726
