Aker Solutions wins Svalin Umbilical Deal

Aker Solutions has been awarded a contract by Subsea 7 for the design and fabrication of a control umbilical for Statoil's Svalin C project on the Norwegian continental shelf. Contract value is undisclosed. Scope of work includes a six kilometre long control umbilical, connectors, engineering and project management. "We are very pleased to be awarded another contract on the Norwegian continental shelf and look forward to supporting Subsea 7 with this Statoil fast-track project," says Tove Røskaft, executive vice president of Aker Solutions' umbilical business. Management, engineering and procurement of the umbilical will be performed at Aker Solutions' headquarters in Fornebu, Norway. Manufacturing will take place in Moss, Norway.

Subsea Production Award to Aker Solutions

Aker Solutions has been awarded a job by Statoil for the engineering, procurement and construction of a subsea production system for the Svalin project on the Norwegian continental shelf. Umbilical Contract Awarded to Aker Solutions

Aker Solutions has been selected to supply a subsea umbilical to Det norske oljeselskap ASA's Jette field. The order is worth approximately NOK 60 million. Det norske's initial order is for six kilometres of static electro-hydraulic stainless steel umbilical. The umbilical will include electrical and hydraulic functions, in addition to a three inch gas lift line and methanol injection. Subsea umbilicals are deployed on the seabed to supply necessary control and chemicals to subsea oil  and gas wells, subsea manifolds and any subsea system requiring a remote control. Engineering and project management will be provided from Aker Solutions' Oslo headquarters. Manufacturing will take place at Aker Solutions' umbilical facility in Moss, Norway. The estimated delivery date is Q3, 2012.

Subsea Equipment Contract, Aker Solutions

Aker Solutions has been awarded a contract by StatoilHydro for the delivery of a complete work-over system for subsea trees at the challenging high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT) Kristin field in the Norwegian Sea. Contract value is approximately $49.2m. Scope of work includes engineering, procurement, manufacturing and testing of a complete work-over intervention system, including tools. A work-over system is equipment that is needed to perform well intervention activities on subsea wells. The objective of work-over operations is to maintain and increase production from the subsea wells. The contract is a call-off from the frame agreement signed between StatoilHydro and Aker Solutions in Q3 2007.

Subsea Umbilical Frame Agreement

Aker Solutions has signed a frame agreement with Shell Norway and Shell U.K. Limited for the supply of subsea umbilicals. The contract is awarded for one year with an option to extend it an additional 12 months. The award means that Aker Solutions will be the preferred supplier of steel tube umbilicals for projects in the North Sea that are managed by Shell's Norwegian and UK operations.
