Sullivan Named VP-Ops, N&MSD, NOC

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Paul F. Sullivan vice president of operations for its Naval and Marine Systems Division (N&MSD) at the company's Electronic Systems sector, effective immediately. In his new position, Sullivan will have executive responsibility for all phases of the division's Department of Defense and Homeland Security programs, along with division responsibility for strategy development, customer engagement, and Navy-related program execution. He will also oversee N&MSD's restricted programs and cross-company collaboration.

NAVSEA Earns EEO Awards

Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) leadership, field activities and employees won five of six of the Navy’s 2008 Nathaniel Stinson Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Awards. NAVSEA winners included: Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock Division in the Large Component category; Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Newport Division in the mid-size component category; NAVSEA Commander Vice Adm. Paul E. "NAVSEA's policy is to aggressively seek out diversity of background as we do our business. This is a business imperative," said Vice Adm. Paul Sullivan. "We need high-end knowledge workers in every facet of our business, from waterfront to laboratory to headquarters.

AVSEA Engineering for Reduced Maintenance

2007 was another successful year for the Naval Sea Systems Command’s (NAVSEA) Engineering for Reduced Maintenance (EFRM) team, with the warfighter-focused program making great strides in reducing shipboard maintenance burdens. Working under NAVSEA’s Naval Systems Engineering Directorate, the EFRM team seeks to streamline costly and time-consuming maintenance procedures in the Fleet. At January’s Surface Navy Symposium, NAVSEA Commander, Vice Adm. Paul E. CVN 78 Ship Specifications Certified

The CVN 78 ship specifications were certified at a Senior Stakeholder Board/Executive Steering Group meeting held recently, after 12 months of specification writing and three months of intense reading sessions. The Naval Sea Systems Command’s (NAVSEA) Ship Design, Integration and Engineering Directorate (SEA 05), in cooperation with Northrop Grumman Newport News (the Lead Design shipyard), led efforts to develop the ship specifications with support from across the Navy enterprise. NAVSEA and the Program Executive Officer for Aircraft Carriers (PEO Carriers) will commemorate the certification of the ship specifications for the CVN 78 Class Aircraft Carriers in a signing and awards ceremony to be held Sept. 5 at the Washington Navy Yard.
