Survitec Group Acquires Sevimar Sur SL

Monday, December 10, 2012

Survitec Group continues its growth plans with acquisition of Spanish Safety Services Business ‘Servimar Sur’.

Survitec Group Limited, one of the global leaders in critical safety and survival equipment and services, has completed its purchase of Servimar Sur SL, a marine servicing business. This follows the recent acquisition of Abteilung Seerettung, part of the larger Gummi Hasenkrug GmbH company in Bremerhaven Germany.

The asset purchase will see the transfer of Technical Services employees and assets from Servimar Sur SL’s site to Survitec Group. The company also plans to move the business to new premises in Algeciras, allowing room for growth as a new range of marine safety services are rolled out.

Chris Taylor, Managing Director of Survitec Group’s Services business, commented on the transaction, “Bringing the Servimar Sur business into the Survitec Group is an extremely complementary addition to our business. It reinforces our presence in Spain, alongside our Barcelona Service Station, and supports our ambitions for an extensive service station network, well placed to serve customers on a local and global scale.”

The Algeciras operation will provide inspection, servicing and sales of multi-branded lifesaving appliances including liferafts, lifejackets, immersion suits and boats. They will also provide fire fighting equipment and Davit inspection services. Customers will also be able to benefit from new liferaft hire and exchange services, recently launched by Survitec Group as part of its new Global Services capability.

In the last year Survitec Group has acquired the marine division of Cosalt PLC, and the commercial marine businesses DBC Marine Safety Systems and Zodiac SOLAS. These acquisitions have expanded the global footprint of Survitec’s services and distribution centres while increasing the volume and variety of products and services available to Survitec customers.
