SeaRose FPSO Production Remains On Hold

Oil production continues to be suspended at the SeaRose FPSO, about 350 kilometers east of St. John’s for the last 50 days. There’s no information on when production will resume.Production was suspended and shutdown began on November 16 after two spills -  an estimated 250,000-liter spill - following a storm.Efforts were underway to resume production after the storm when a failed flowline connector near the South White Rose Extension drill center caused oil to be spilled into the environment.According to a notification from Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB), "shutdown maintenance activities are ongoing at the SeaRose FPSO…

Oil Spill: Husky Energy Offshore Oil Rigs Still Shut Down

Following the Canadian oil and gas company Husky Energy has reported a spillage of 250m3, or 1,572 barrels, of oil, offshore the Canadian province of Newfoundland, production remains shut in at the SeaRose floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel with all production wells.Husky Energy had shut in production at the White Rose field Thursday, November 15 due to operational safety concerns resulting from severe weather. Wood Group Wins Browse FEED Contract

Wood Group has secured its second front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the proposed Browse floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) Development offshore Western Australia. Under the new contract with Woodside, effective immediately, Wood Group Kenny (WGK) will progress the configuration design of the flexible risers and umbilicals for the asset’s offshore gas-condensate fields - Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa. Stolt Offshore Reports Milestone Reached On Girassol Field

Stolt Offshore reported that, following the TotalFinaElf announcement of first oil production from the Girassol field, that a major milestone had been reached on this unique field development on which Stolt Offshore has been working for four years. The operator of the field is TotalFinaElf with a 40 percent interest. Other partners are Esso Exploration Angola (Block 17) Limited (20 percent), BP (16.67 percent), Statoil (13.3 percent) and Norsk Hydro (10 percent). Girassol is being developed under a production sharing agreement with Sonangol, the national oil company of Angola. Stolt Offshore has been involved in two parts of the development.

Technip Offshore Wins Pipeline Contract

Technip Offshore Contractors Inc., formerly Coflexip Stena Offshore Inc., a U.S. entity of Technip-Coflexip has been awarded by BP America Production Company the fabrication and installation of a deepwater subsea pipeline for their King West Development. The King West well is located in Mississippi Canyon Block 84 in the Gulf of Mexico. The planned field layout for this development consists of one subsea well located in MC 84, tied back to an existing in-line subsea tie-in base associated with the producing King Subsea Flowline System.
