Diesel generators in the form of ready-made power packs in container format are vulnerable in terms of water tightness, particularly around the diesel generator's exhaust. This is a serious problem in environments such as aggressive sea climates where many offshore power packs are installed. The danger of corrosion is always lying in wait, while any incoming water can also have serious consequences for the reliability of the electrical systems. To prevent this, Beele Engineering supplies exhaust sealing systems based on the NOFIRNO sealing system.

The NOFIRNO system is a sealing system based on high-quality NOFIRNO rubber. The system can continuously withstand a maximum temperature of +180°C. This proved to be more than sufficient for the exhaust of the power pack: the maximum temperature of the exhaust silencer of a running diesel motor was measured at +130 °C. At the transit the maximum temperature was +70°C.

The NOFIRNO system was developed in-house by Beele Engineering and is also manufactured in-house by the company itself. The company has all facets of the production process in hand, from compounding to quality control and field support. This not only guarantees high product and service quality, but also ensures that custom solutions can be provided should the need arise.

This is important in offshore environments, for example, where high fire safety standards apply. Beele Engineering's system combines the water tightness function with extremely high fire resistance. In addition, service life tests demonstrate that the NOFIRNO system has a 50-year service life.
