Samsung Delivers Shuttle Tanker to Altera

Altera Infrastructure, formerly known as Teekay Offshore, said it has taken delivery of a new shuttle tanker from Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea.The 148,200 DWT newbuild, Altera Thule, was handed over to Altera on Thursday. The ship's crew is currently on board and preparing for sail away after familiarization, testing and drills, the company said.The Bahamas-registered suezmax will operate on long-term contracts with a group of companies that includes Chevron, Exxon, Husky, Equinor, Suncor and more, to provide shuttle tanker services off Canada's East Coast.

Sovcomflot Updates Fleet Strength

Russian maritime shipping company specializing in petroleum and LNG shipping Sovcomflot (SCF Group) said that Yevgeny Primakov (Icebreaker Ice-15) joined the fleet, the final vessel in a series of four new generation IBSV’s, engaged under a long-term time-charter agreement with Sakhalin Energy.The shipping company added that this makes a total fleet of 10 supply and standby vessels servicing Nogliki Base Camp (SEIC and ENL) at Sakhalin island (Sea of Okhotsk).The world’s first Aframax tanker to use LNG as her primary fuel Gagarin Prospect (114,000 DWT) entered service (July) on long-term time charter to Shell. New Shuttle Tanker Design for Teekay

A new shuttle tanker concept developed by the world’s largest shuttle tanker services provider, Teekay, will offer a new level of innovation, says Wärtsilä, whose smart technology solutions will be featured on the new vessels. To date, Teekay has ordered four of these ‘next generation’ ships, each to be built at the Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) yard in South Korea. According to Wärtsilä, the newbuilds will feature a broad assortment of its latest technology innovations, all of which are central to the concept’s overall performance gains.

Teekay Orders Additional Shuttle Tanker Duo

Teekay Offshore Partners L.P. has declared options with Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. for the construction of two Suezmax  DP2 shuttle tanker newbuilds for a total fully-built-up cost of approximately $265 million. Upon delivery in 2020, the vessels will join Teekay Offshore’s Contract of Affreightment (CoA) fleet in the North Sea. “This is another important milestone for Teekay Offshore’s shuttle tanker franchise since it further strengthens our position as the leading provider of CoA shuttle tanker services in the North Sea,” said Ingvild Sæther, President and CEO of Teekay Offshore Group Ltd. Sovcomflot Reports Loss for 9M 2017

Teekay Orders Shuttle Tanker Newbuilds

On July 27, 2017, Teekay Offshore (TOO) CEO Ingvild Sæther announced the contract signing for two Suezmax-size, DP2 shuttle tanker newbuildings, with options to order up to two additional vessels.   The vessels are scheduled to be delivered in 2019 and 2020 and provide shuttle tanker services in the North Sea in support of Statoil.   The newbuilds will be constructed based on TOO’s new Shuttle Spirit design which incorporates technologies to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) propulsion.

Samsung to Build Three Shuttle Tankers for Teekay Offshore

Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) has announced that it is to build three shuttle tankers for Teekay Offshore Partners, at a total price of $365m and the contract includes an option for an extra vessel. The contract was signed in Oslo where Nor-Shipping 2015 was held. As for the contract value, while SHI says that the three tankers cost USD 330 million, for Teekay it is USD 365 million. The tankers ordered are 155,000DWT shuttle tankers that are 293m long and 49m wide, and they will be delivered by February 2018. Both SHI and Teekay Offshore have said that the tankers will be used to transport crude oil from offshore oilfields off east Canada. Shuttle tankers are oil tankers that transport crude oil extracted from marine oil fields to storage bases on the ground.

Teekay Orders 3 Tankers for Canada Contracts

Teekay Offshore Partners L.P. informs it has entered long-term contracts to provide shuttle tanker services for a group of companies producing oil on Canada’s East Coast, including Chevron Canada, Husky Energy, Mosbacher Operating Ltd., Murphy Oil, Nalcor Energy, Statoil and Suncor Energy. The 15-year contracts, plus extension options, will initially be serviced by one of Teekay Offshore’s existing shuttle tankers, the Navion Hispania, and two to three third party-owned shuttle tankers currently operating in East Coast Canada, which will be chartered-in to Teekay Offshore’s Canadian affiliate located in St. John’s, Newfoundland, prior to the delivery of up to four shuttle tanker newbuildings.

Teekay Offshore Signs Brazil Shuttle Tanker Contract

Teekay Offshore GP L.L.C., the general partner of Teekay Offshore Partners L.P. (Teekay Offshore or the Partnership) TOO -0.92% , announced today that it has entered into a new long-term contract with a subsidiary of BG Group plc (BG) to provide shuttle tanker services in Brazil. The contract with BG will be serviced by four Suezmax-size DP2 shuttle tanker newbuildings to be constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea. Upon delivery in mid- to late-2013, the vessels will commence operations under 10-year time-charters. The contract with BG also includes certain extension options and vessel purchase options. Two Jones Act Tankers Chartered to Petrobras

Overseas Shipholding Group Inc., a global energy transportation services company, has signed a definitive agreement to charter two 46,000 dwt Jones Act tankers to Petrobras America Inc., marking the first U.S. Petrobras America is a unit of Petroleo Brasileiro S.A., the 12th largest oil company in the world. OSG will provide shuttle tanker services from a floating production storage and offloading facility in the Walker Ridge area of the Gulf of Mexico. OSG reported it will convert to shuttle tankers two of the 12 product tankers it has ordered from Aker Philadelphia Shipyard. The company expects to deliver the converted shuttle tankers to Petrobras in the first quarters of 2010 and 2011.

Overseas Shipholding To Charter Two Tankers To Petrobras America

Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. (OSG) revealed that it has entered into a definitive agreement to charter two 46,000 dwt Jones Act tankers to Petrobras America, Inc. a unit of Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (PBR, PBRA). The company said that it would provide shuttle tanker services from a Floating Production Storage and Offloading facility, or FPSO. Wherever pipeline infrastructure is too costly, FPSOs and shuttle tankers are a cost-effective means of transporting offshore oil. Overseas Shipholding would convert to shuttle tankers two of the 12 product tankers that it has ordered from Aker Philadelphia Shipyard. Teekay Buys Navion for $800M

Teekay Shipping Corporation announced that it will buy Statoil's wholly-owned shipping company, Navion ASA, on a debt free basis, for approximately $ 800 million in cash. The transaction positions Teekay as a strategic logistics provider of shuttle tanker services to Statoil and other oil companies, and increases Teekay's presence in the conventional crude oil and product tanker trades. In 2001, Navion transported a total of 160 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products, exceeding the 135 million tons carried by Teekay in that year. Operating from Stavanger, Norway, Navion has built a leading franchise in the complex North Sea offshore loading business.
