Morten Tengs - New CEO at TSBc

Morten Tengs (51) has been appointed as the new CEO at Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc). Mr. Tengs comes from the position as Senior Vice President at Telenor Group’s regional office for Asia, in Bangkok. He succeeds Cato Halsaa, who is to retire this summer. “Morten Tengs will be starting in his new role this summer. His broad experience and competence from executive positions in several Telenor companies, will be an important contribution to further development of Telenor Satellite Broadcasting,” says Telenor Broadcast SVP & CEO Patrik Hofbauer, who is also chairman for TSBc. “I am impressed that TSBc has taken such an important position in the market, whilst at the same time renewing their fleet of satellites.

Telenor Activates 3000th BGAN Terminal Activation

Telenor Satellite Services, a subsidiary of Telenor of Norway announced that the company has activated its 3000th Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) terminal. BGAN offers users high-speed IP-based broadband communications plus simultaneous voice (telephony) calling via a portfolio of small, lightweight user terminals. The robust communications service from Telenor is especially useful for a variety of IP-based applications such as streaming video, videoconferencing and Web browsing. The service allows businesses and organizations to extend networks to their remote operations sites. Telenor, the second largest Distribution Partner in BGAN activations, was able to meet this benchmark thanks to its extensive Telenor Global Distribution Network.

Telenor Introduces My Source

Telenor Satellite Services, a subsidiary of Telenor of Norway launched My Source, a new online account management tool giving Telenor users more control of their satellite communications budget. The new tool offers customers of Telenor Service Providers using Telenor's satellite products and services a full range of service management capabilities. My Source enables users to manage the use of satellite terminals and phones, select prepaid plans, automatically reload prepaid cards, and accurately view current call data. My Source also features Web Dial, which allows users to set up calls to anywhere in the world via the Internet. Web Dial permits users to manage a list or group of numbers that are accessed via an Internet browser to establish individual or conference calls.
