Concordia Maritime Appoint Kim Ullman President

Joakim (Kim) Ullman has been appointed President of Concordia Maritime AB with effect from 1 January 2014. Kim comes from Stena LNG where he has been CEO since 2012 and he will replace Hans Norén who will leave Concordia Maritime at the end of the year after ten years as president. “After a methodical search during the autumn, both externally and in the Stena AB group, the board of directors is very pleased that Kim Ullman has agreed to take over the helm at Concordia Maritime. There are few people in tanker shipping in the Nordic region with more solid qualifications than Kim.

Concordia Maritime;s Interim Report

Concordia Maritime AB (publ), an international tanker shipping company, announced its interim report. Highlights include: • Net sales: USD 50.55 million • Profit after tax: USD 7.20 million • Profit per share after tax: USD .150 • EBITDA of USD 18.1 (9.2) million • Forecast for 2008 unchanged: A profit before tax of USD 9.03 million Concordia Maritime has ordered ten tankers, which are being built in accordance with the MAX concept. Six P-MAX-vessels have been delivered and four will be delivered during 2009/2010. These vessels, P-MAX, are product tankers of about 65,200 dwt.

Arlington Tankers Releases 3Q Results

's Board of Directors has declared a cash dividend of $0.57 per share. The dividend is payable on November 4, 2008 to shareholders of record at the close of business on October 31, 2008. The additional charter hire earned during the third quarter of 2008 was derived from profit sharing arrangements under the time charters of the Company's V-MAX, Panamax and Product tankers. Of the $1.2 million in additional charter hire, $700,000 was attributed to profit sharing for the two V-MAX vessels. The remaining $500,000 was attributed to additional charter hire from the Company's two Panamax tankers. For these two vessels, the average time charter equivalent rates under the Company's profit sharing agreements over the preceding twelve months were in excess of contractual minimum levels.

Arlington Tankers 2Q Results

Arlington Tankers announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2008. For the quarter ended June 30, 2008, the company’s total revenues were $17.4m, consisting of $16.5m in basic vessel charter hire and $900,000 in additional charter hire that the company received under its profit sharing arrangements. On the basis of the second quarter results, ’s Board of Directors has declared a cash dividend of $0.56 per share. The dividend is payable on August 5, 2008 to shareholders of record at the close of business on August 1, 2008. The additional charter hire earned during the second quarter of 2008 was derived from profit sharing arrangements under the time charters of the Company’s V-MAX, Panamax and Product tankers.

ABS Elects Carlsson, Wolcott and Goulandris to Board of Directors

Lars Carlsson, president, Concordia Maritime AB; Douglas Wolcott of Wolcott Associates; and Peter George Goulandris of Capeside Steamship Company Ltd., were elected to the ABS Board of Directors, by the ABS Council, following yesterday's Annual Members Meeting of the classification society in New York. All three have a long association with the governance of ABS and have previously served on the classification society's Board.

Berglund Joins OSG

Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. appointed veteran shipping executive Mats Berglund as Senior Vice President to lead OSG's Crude Transportation Strategic Business Unit. In this newly created role, he will be responsible for OSG's VLCC, Aframax and Panamax tanker operations. Berglund will relocate to the United States and be based out of OSG's corporate headquarters in New York City, New York. Arlington Tankers Announces Results

Arlington Tankers Ltd. (NYSE: ATB) announced financial results for the third quarter and the nine months ended September 30, 2007. For the quarter ended September 30, 2007, the Company's total revenues were $17.5m, consisting of $16.5m in basic vessel charter hire and $1.0m in additional charter hire that the Company received under its profit sharing arrangements. On the basis of the third quarter results, Arlington's Board of Directors has declared a cash dividend of $0.59 per share. Concordia and Stena Bulk Awarded Environmental Diploma

At World Shipping Day in Gothenburg, Concordia Maritime and Stena Bulk will be awarded Sjöfartsforum’s Environmental Diploma for Stena’s in-house developed MAX vessels. The prize will be handed over at a ceremony at the Concert Hall. The jury for the award says, “Innovative thinking and responsibility characterize Stena Bulk/Concordia Maritime. They have been awarded Sjöfartsforum’s Environmental Diploma in 2006 for the development and construction of the P-MAX tankers. Doubling the majority of their functions results in an unsurpassed level of safety and manuverability among the world’s tankers, which benefits the environment. The sharply increasing volume of tanker traffic in the Baltic Sea is a challenge.

Arlington Tankers Announces New Sub-Charter

Arlington Tankers Ltd. announced that Concordia Maritime AB of Sweden (Concordia) has entered into new two-year sub-charter agreements for Arlington's two V-Max tankers, the Stena Vision and Stena Victory. Concordia is the current time charterer for both vessels through 2009. The vessels are currently sub-chartered to Sun Oil International (Sun). The sub-charters with Sun are due to expire during 2007. The new sub-charter agreements are with Litasco, a subsidiary of the Russian energy company LukOil OAO, and will commence immediately upon expiration of the sub-charters with Sun and continue for a two-year term. Stena Vision to Experience Prolonged Period of Repair

Arlington Tankers Ltd. was notified by its vessel manager, Northern Marine Management Ltd. (Northern Marine), that one of its two VLCC tankers, the Stena Vision, built in 2001, will now commence a prolonged period of repair due to an engine maintenance program. The 314,000 metric tonne deadweight vessel was undergoing a scheduled dry-dock period when it was determined that the repair was necessary, and that the vessel will be out of service for several months. The Stena Vision is currently on a long-term time charter to Concordia Maritime AB (Concordia) of Sweden until November 2009. The daily basic charter rate for the Stena Vision for 2006 is $36,075.

Stena Vision, a unique VLCC built by Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) in that it features twin-engines and twin-propellers, was recently christened at the Ulsan Shipyard. Concordia Maritime AB's new ultra-large 315,000-dwt VLCC was christened by Mrs. Karen Fidler, wife of the president of Sunoco Inc., the company that chartered the VLCC. Built for Concordia Maritime, a public tanker company of the Swedish-based Stena organization, the VLCC is a revolutionary type of crude oil carrier. The 1,102 ft. (336 m) long Stena V-Max design VLCC differs from other large tankers built in the world to date. In addition to double hulls, the VLCC has double, completely separate engine rooms, double rudders and double propellers.
