Baudouin Unveils 6F21 Marine Engine

French engine manufacturer Moteurs Baudouin has unveiled the 6F21, its new 6-cylinder, 12.5-liter engine producing up to 735 kW/1000 HP.The 6F21 includes a strengthened engine structure to withstand high torque and a higher cylinder pressure well over 200 bar, the manufacturer said. A two-stage turbocharger system is also fitted on the engine, along with two intercoolers, and a high-end common rail system, operating at 2200 bar. Cummins: New Keel-cooled QSC8.3 600 Horsepower Rating for Marine Vessels

Workboat with MAN EPA Tier 3 Engine Launched in the US

"Ava Jane", was launched in Washington state on April 15 as the first workboat with a MAN EPA Tier 3 commercially certified engine. Right in time, the German engine manufacturer made its entire product line conform with the current emission standards, by optimizing the internal engine design without increasing its fuel consumption at full load. Deere's New 300 hp Engine Available

John Deere Power Systems has added a new engine rating to its current line of marine engine products - the PowerTech 6068SFM. The engine has an M5 rating with 300 hp (224 kW) at 2,600 rpm and is specially suited for rescue boats, pilot boats and other light-duty applications. This new heat exchanger cooled engine will incorporate a seawater aftercooler, electronically controlled fuel system, cruise-by-wire control, diagnostic messaging and self-protection. The high-torque 6068SFM achieves constant power at a rated speed from 2,600 rpm down to 2,300 rpm; the lower rpm reduces vibration and noise, provides exceptional control and maneuverability and enables the engine to turn larger propellers more efficiently.
