Two New Tugs Being Built for China Petroleum

Shipbuilder PT. Graha Trisaka Industri, in Batam, Indonesia is building a pair of new TRAktor V-3200 tugs for China Petroleum Corporation (CPC), of Taiwan.The shipyard, with support from Robert Allan Ltd., was awarded the construction contract by CPC following an international bid process. A steel cutting ceremony was held for the newbuilds on April 15.Upon delivery, the custom designed tugboats will operate at the CPC liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Shenao in Taiwan.The TRAktor V design by Robert Allan Ltd.

Jiangsu Zhenjiang Delivers Cao Gang 27

Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard (Group) Co. Ltd. of China has delivered Cao Gang 27 to Caofeidian Tugging Services Co., Ltd, Tangshan Port.The vessel designed by Robert Allan Ltd (RAL) for service at Cao Fei Dian Port located in Tangshan in the northeastern part of Hebei Province China is a customized RAmparts 2800 tug with a shallow draft, ice strengthened hull.The Cao Gang 27 was designed and constructed to Chinese Classification Society rules, said a press note from RAL.The vessel’s accommodations are compliant with MLC standards for a normal operating crew of up to 9 personnel. Tug Upgrade at Tianjin Port

As a part of its tug fleet upgrade program, Tianjin Port of China retained Robert Allan Ltd. in early 2012 to develop several new tug designs to suit its operational requirements. The program involved five tugs of three distinct designs. The recent delivery of the RAstar 3500 class tugs Jin Gang Lun 28 and Jin Gang Lun 29 marked the conclusion of this program. The two latest vessels were constructed by a local shipyard, CCCC Bomesc Marine Industry Co. Ltd. in Tianjin city. New Pilot/Tugboat for Tianjin Port

Early in 2015, Tianjin Port in the north part of China took delivery of a new ASD 38/60 Class pilot/tugboat, Jin Gang Lun 35, from the builder Shanghai Harbor Fuxing Shipping Service Company, after the delivery of two ASD 35/80 class tugs from the same shipyard in 2013. All three vessels were designed specifically for the Tianjin Port Authority by Robert Allan Ltd., naval architects of Vancouver, Canada. Custom Ro-Pax Delivered in China

The first Ro-Pax cruiser designed and built in China for the Chinese market has entered into service on January 1, 2015. The ship, named San sha No. 1, can carry wheeled cargo, containers, trailers as well as passengers, and was delivered to China's southernmost city Sansha in Hainan Province to tackle the city's lack of transportation capacity. The vessel is a conventional propulsion Ro-Ro Passenger vessel designed to transport vehicle and containers on a single cargo deck in compliance with Chinese Classification Society Rules and Chinese Flag regulations.

New RS Office in Shanghai

A new RS Branch Office has opened in Shanghai (People's Republic of China). In accordance with the requirements of PRC legislation the Branch Office was registered in December 2013, and in May it started to work with shipowners and manufacturers of materials and equipment. Russian-Chinese relations in the field of shipbuilding and shipping industry have a long history. Since September 1947 in the People's Republic of China Inspection of the USSR Register of Shipping functioned with survey stations in Shanghai and Dalian. The Chinese surveyors working within it adopted experience of Russian personnel on technical supervision of sea-going ships, development of specifications and safety standards with regard to maritime transport.

RAmparts Tugs Delivered in China

The first of a new series of the RAmparts 3500 Class ASD tug design was delivered to its Owners Tianjin Port, a port in the northern part of China. The vessel was constructed at Shanghai Harbor Fuxing Shipping Service Company, and was named Jin Gang Lun 26.A sister vessel is under construction at the same shipyard. The hull of the new 35 meter design has been developed from the very successful 32 meter Ramparts design series, of which more than 100 tugs have been built in the past decade.

Thrane & Thrane SSAS Certified

Thrane & Thrane said that the company’s mini-C solution for Ship Security Alert System (SSAS), the TT-3000SSA Capsat® Ship Security Alert, has received five new type approvals by the following classification societies: American Bureau of Shipping (ABS); Chinese Classification Society (CCS); Germanischer Lloyds (GL); Government of India Ministry of Shipping; and Polski Rejestr Statkow (PRS). Thrane & Thrane has earlier received type approvals by Lloyd’s Register EMEA as well as Inmarsat.
