Indian Navy Thwarts Attack on Chinese Vessel

According to a report from The Times of India, the Indian Navy responded to a distress call from a Chinese merchant vessel, the Fucheng, under attack by pirates in the Arabian Sea around 450 nautical miles west off the Karwar coast on May 5. An Indian Navy Tupolev-142M naval patrol aircraft hovered near the Chinese vessel making the pirates flee.
