Equinor Starts Operating First Hybrid PSV in Brazilian Waters

The first hybrid Platform Supply Vessel (PSV), which uses batteries and diesel for propulsion, has started operating for Equinor in Brazil.With the battery bank installed, the PSV is able to operate with hybrid propulsion, switching between the use of electricity and diesel. Eidesvik Offshore Says Revenue, Backlog on the Rise

Norwegian offshore support vessel operator Eidesvik Offshore posted what it said was the second consecutive quarter with a revenue level not seen since 2016.The company's revenue was NOK 190.4 million, an increase of 9% compared to Q3 2021. EBITDA increased by 12% to NOK 91 million vs NOK 81.5 million. The company’s operating result was NOK 262.9 million, up from NOK 1 million in Q3 2021."During the period, Eidesvik increased its backlog substantially through the signing of multiple long-term contract awards with an estimated value of NOK 690 million.

Norway-based offshore support vessel operator Eidesvik Offshore has appointed Arve Nilsen as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Ellen Sofie Ottesen as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).Nilsen comes from the position of Technical Manager in Eidesvik with responsibility for technology, purchasing, and IT. Wärtsilä to Make CBO Flamengo Brazil's First PSV Fitted with a Battery Pack

Brazilian offshore support vessel operator CBO has tasked maritime equipment manufacturer Wärtsilä, based in Finland, to convert one of its offshore vessels to operate with hybrid propulsion. The vessel selected for the upgrade is the 2012-built platform supply vessel CBO Flamengo. Ex-Subsea 7 Man to Head Harvey Gulf's New Subsea Services Business

The U.S.-based offshore support vessel operator Harvey Gulf International Marine has appointed Ed Galloway to manage Harvey’s new subsea venture company, Harvey Subsea Services. Galloway was previously Director of Gulf of Mexico Region for Subsea7/i-Tech7 where he ran the company’s IMR business, including related charters and engineering solutions. Prior to this, Galloway, a U.S. Navy veteran, spent 23 years at Oceaneering, working in various leadership roles, focused on their subsea business.

Eidesvik Wins PSV Charters with Aker BP

Norwegian offshore support vessel operator Eidesvik Offshore has secured contracts for two of its offshore vessels with the Norwegian oil firm Aker BP.Aker BP has awarded Eidesvik's LNG-powered platform supply vessel Viking Lady a four-month contract extension. The extension is in direct continuation of the current contract, and starts in early September and ends in late December 2020.Also, Aker BP will charter the VIking Prince vessel, also on a four-month charge, also starting in early September.The Viking Prince, also powered by LNG, was on a contract with Aker BP, but this charter party ended a few days ago.Eidesvik plans to use the vessel in the spot market during the 3-month summer season before it goes on contract with Aker BP in September.

Five PSV Charters for Solstad Offshore in UK

Norway-based offshore support vessel operator Solstad Offshore has secured contracts and extensions for five of its platform supply vessels in the UK Sector of the North Sea.The longest term charters of the five have been awarded to Solstad Offshore by its Equnior's UK subsidiary Equinor UK Limited. Equinor has extended contracts for the platform supply vessels Sea Frost and Normand Skipper."Both vessels have been supporting Equinor's operations since July 2017 and January 2019 respectively.

Sentinel Marine Expands Fleet

Offshore support vessel operator Sentinel Marine has introduced the newest fleet of emergency response and rescue vessels in the North Sea – and help clean up the offshore environment.All eight ships recently built to order by Sentinel Marine – and the four still under various stages of construction – have Tier 4 compliant engines which reduce emissions of particulate matter and noxious gases to near zero levels.Sentinel Marine chief executive officer Rory Deans said: “Tier 4 engines reduce emissions by around 86% compared to other types of engines used in the marine environment.“Our fleet is currently one of very few in the North Sea to utilise Tier 4 engines.

Seacat Services Orders Crew Transfer Vessel

Offshore support vessel operator Seacat Services has taken up its option to build a second multimillion-dollar Chartwell 24 catamaran for the offshore wind sector. Seacat Rainbow, designed by pioneer in next generation vessel design, Chartwell Marine, will enter construction immediately at Isle of Wight shipyard Diverse Marine.Recent multi-vessel contract wins and charter extensions have led to high levels of forward utilization for the Seacat Services fleet, creating a strong commercial case for further expansion.

Glomar Offshore Buys Bourbon Duo

Dutch offshore support vessel operator Glomar Offshore announced Thursday it has purchased a pair of support vessels from French owner Bourbon Offshore.The 2008-built Bourbon Arethuse and 2009-built Bourbon Amilcar will be renamed Glomar Worker and Glomar Supporter, respectively, and will be dedicated to subsea and survey projects for oil and gas and renewables clients in the North Sea and Baltic, Glomar said.The vessels will receive modifications and upgrades at Glomar's Globaltic Marine yard in Gdynia, Poland.Glomar also noted that its other recently acquired vessels, Minkar, Situla and Shaula (ex Halul 10, 11 and 12, all 2002-built), are being upgraded and are expected to be ready for work by the third quarter of 2019.

Sentinel Marine Adds a Secondhand PSV

Aberdeen-based offshore support vessel operator Sentinel Marine said it has purchased a multi-role ship from a Canadian seller.The 1997-built Scotian Sentinel (formerly Scotian Sea) is currently in dry-dock for upgrades and is expected to enter service in November as a Group A combined platform supply and emergency response and rescue vessel (PSV/ERRV).The addition comes as Sentinel is nearing the end of a nine-vessel newbuild program. The series’ eighth vessel, Chinese-built Bailey Sentinel, recently commenced operations in the U.K.

POSH Takes Delivery of Two Singapore-built Tugs

Two Azistern 3270 tugs designed by Offshore Ship Designers (OSD) have been delivered to their new owner, PACC Offshore Services Holdings Limited (POSH Singapore), the Asia-based international offshore support vessel operator.   Posh Husky and Posh Hardy were built at Paxocean Shipyard in Singapore. They are classed by Bureau Veritas, and fly the Singapore flag. The 488 gt vessels have a LOA of 31.62 m, a bollard poll of 72 tonnes, and a maximum speed of 13 knots. They can accommodate 10 crew members in six single and two twin-berth cabins.

CargoFlexX Bags US Order for 6 Bulk Handling Systems

Netherlands-based cargo handling innovator CargoFlexX BV has secured a contract to deliver six dry bulk handling systems to the Gulf of Mexico. The dry bulk handling systems will be installed on-board the new SOLAS OSVs under construction for SEACOR Marine LLC’s new building program. The FlexXVac system is an alternative for the up to now often used conventional P-tank dry bulk handling systems, CargoFlexX xplains. As a result of the implementation of the FlexXVac system SEACOR Marine LLC will be able to carry 33% more of dry bulk on-board of the newbuildings, compared to the conventional setup, the manufacturer said. SEACOR Marine LLC will be the first U.S. Offshore Support Vessel operator with the FlexXVac system sailing in the Gulf of Mexico.

POSH raises $311m in Singapore IPO

POSH prices IPO at S$1.15 per share, near bottom of indicative range. POSH focuses on service to production, maintenance and is keen on growing offshore accommodation business. PACC Offshore Services Holdings (POSH) could raise at least S$388.27 million ($311 million) after pricing its initial public offering near the bottom of the pricing range indicated earlier, the company said on Thursday. The deal comes as Singapore's IPO market has struggled in recent years. Most big-ticket listings in Asia opt for Hong Kong where there is more robust demand from Chinese and international investors. POSH priced the deal at S$1.15 a share against an indicative price range of S$1.13 to S$1.24 a share, it said in its prospectus.

IHC Merwede Secures Orders for Pipelaying Vessels

IHC Offshore & Marine, part of IHC Merwede, and SapuraCrest have signed two contracts for the design, engineering and construction of two new 550t pipelaying vessels. A third contract has been signed with OSX Construção Naval S.A. Brazil for the design and engineering of a 300t pipelaying vessel, as well as a large equipment package, supplied by IHC Engineering Business, among others.
