Sea Machines, HamiltonJet Launch JETsense

Sea Machines Robotics and HamiltonJet have launched a new intelligent voyage control product, named JETsense, that uses autonomous navigation, multi-sensor fusion, and computer vision "to move waterjet vessels to the forefront of 21st-century navigation and utility."JETsense utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced autonomy to perceive the domain and maintain precise control of steering and speed during a voyage and re-route to avoid traffic and obstacles while enabling a new level of streaming data to improve on-water operations…

Excellence in Partnering Award for "Atlantic Canyons" Team

The National Oceanographic Partnership Program (NOPP) will present the 2015 Excellence in Partnering Award to 17 organizations involved in the Atlantic Canyons study during Ocean Sciences 2016 in New Orleans. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday,  February 23, from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. (CST) at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Room 223. This multi-year effort leveraged the resources of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration and Research, 12 universities and research institutions, and two companies, to explore Baltimore and Norfolk Canyons about 60 miles offshore of Maryland and Virginia.

New Orleans Port to Host Maritime Workforce Summit

Designed to expand awareness of the economic impact of commerce on the Lower Mississippi River and highlight career opportunities and pathways, the Summit will feature an array of speakers from industry and academia, along with a panel discussion on how industry can collaborate with educators to fulfill current and future workforce opportunities. “This Summit is designed to educate community stakeholders of the economic impact of trade, transportation and logistics throughout the region and build a coalition of advocates to help leverage resources to develop a highly-skilled local workforce for the future,” said Gary LaGrange, Port President and CEO. The summit begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Great Hall of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Maritime Port Security To Be Addressed at International WorkBoat Show

With homeland security becoming more critical in recent months, the 24th annual International WorkBoat Show, to be held November 28-30 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, will host a special security panel entitled "The Changed Waterfront of Maritime Port Security," as part of the event's comprehensive conference program. The panel, to be held on Thursday, November 29, at 2 p.m., will feature experts from the U.S. Coast Guard, Port of New Orleans, as well as fire and safety personnel addressing critical issues of port security. Tidewater CEO to Address WorkBoat Show

William C. O’Malley, President and CEO of Tidewater Inc., will provide the keynote address at the International WorkBoat Show, being held at the Ernest M. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Dec. 6 to 8. Tidewater Inc., headquartered in New Orleans, operates the largest workboat fleet in the world. O’Malley’s appearance, sponsored by Halter Marine, will take place on Thursday, December 7 at 12:30pm. He will address the opportunities and challenges facing his industry in the new millennium. Tidewater’s fleet has served the oil and gas industry for more than 40 years. In addition to the keynote, a full conference program will take place throughout the show, featuring sessions on gear, regulations, finance, and management issues confronting the workboat industry.

Sea Technology:Underwater Intervention 2003 Set for New Orleans

Dubbed "the most important three days for Underwater Contracting," Underwater Intervention is slated to convene from February 10-12 in New Orleans at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. With a full and diverse technical program and an impressive roster of exhibitors from around the globe, UI '03 seems to be on track to fulfil this claim. New Orleans is historically a favorite venue for Underwater Intervention, and in fact the exhibition is scheduled to be held in New Orleans through 2010. The spacious Convention Center provides enough floor space for over 250 exhibit booths. For the 10th consecutive year Underwater Intervention is co-sponsored by the ROV Committee of the Marine Technology Society and the Association of Diving Contractors International, Inc.

Oceanology International to be Held in New Orleans

The premier Oceanology International Americas 2003 Exhibition/The Oceanography Society Ocean (OI) Conference will be held inn New Orleans, La., at the Ernest M. Morial Convention Center on June 4-6.
