Tidewater Elects Industry Notable, Robert L. Potter, to Board

OSV fleet owners Tidewater have elected the recently retired President of FMC Technologies, Robert L. Potter to join its Board of Directors for a term beginning December 1, 2013 and expiring in July 2014. Robert L. Potter will retire from his position as President of FMC Technologies, Inc. on November 30, 2013, a position he has held since August 2012, following 40 years of service with the company. Mr. Potter joined FMC Technologies in 1973 after his graduation from Rice University.

Tidewater Elects Netherland

Tidewater (NYSE: TDW) announced the election of Joseph H. Netherland to its Board of Directors for a term expiring in July 2009. Mr. Netherland served as Chairman of the Board of FMC Technologies from December 2001 until his retirement in October 2008. Mr. Netherland also served as Chief Executive Officer of FMC Technologies from 2001 to March 2007, when he retired as an executive officer of the company. Mr. Netherland was President of FMC Technologies from 2001 to February 2006. Previously, Mr. Netherland served as a director of FMC Corporation from 1998 to 2001 and as Executive Vice President of FMC Corporation from 1998 until his appointment as President. Mr. Netherland was the General Manager of FMC Corporation’s Energy and Transportation Group from 1992 to 2001. Mr.

OTC: Offshore Industry Barometer For More Than 30 Years

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) annually attracts a global audience of leading engineers, managers, and scientists to the heart of the oil and gas industry. It was 1969 when OTC made its debut in Houston, a big year for the energy industry: oil was discovered in the North Sea; environmentalists were blocking the Trans-Alaskan pipeline that would bring North Slope oil supplies to the lower 48 states; oil rich countries in the Middle East and North Africa were demanding a bigger share of oil profits; and oil prices were positioned for takeoff. That inaugural event was modest by today’s standards, attracting just 4,200 offshore professionals and 125 exhibitors-less than one-tenth the turnout of recent years. Currently OTC is the offshore industry’s largest annual gathering.

OTC Announces New Board Members

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) board of directors elected the 2004-2005 chairman and vice-chairman during this year’s event that took place 5-8 May at Reliant Center at Reliant Park in Houston. Members of the OTC Board are appointed to four-year terms by their respective society or organization. The OTC Board includes 13 representatives, 11 from OTC’s sponsoring organizations and two from OTC’s endorsing organizations. The two principal officers, the Chairman and the Vice Chairman, are elected for two-year terms by the Board during their annual meeting. The 2004-2005 OTC Chairman is Rod Allan, Manager of Core Expertise for Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling, Inc. Allan has served four years on the OTC board and succeeds Charlie Richards of C.A.
