Sembcorp Marine Delivers Vito Floater to Shell

Singapore's Sembcorp Marine said Thursday it had completed the construction of the Vito floating production facility, bound for deployment in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico for Shell.The integration of Vito’s topside structure with its hull was executed by a pair of goliath cranes with 30,000-tonne combined lifting capacity and 100-meter hook height in Tuas Boulevard Yard in Singapore. Rowan Gets New Contract by Turkish Petroleum

Offshore driller Rowan Companies has been awarded a two-well contract for its Rowan Norway jack-up rig in the Mediterranean Sea by Turkish Petroleum.Rowan Companies announced that the Rowan Norway, an N-Class ultra-harsh environment jack-up rig, has been awarded a two-well contract in the Mediterranean Sea by Turkish Petroleum with an estimated duration 100-140 days.The contract is expected to commence in late 2018. The Rowan Norway is currently warm-stacked in the United Kingdom sector of the North Sea. Rowan is a global provider of contract drilling services with a fleet of 27 mobile offshore drilling units, composed of 23 self-elevating jack-up rigs and four ultra-deepwater drillships.The Company's fleet operates worldwide…

Cantium Contracts Rowan Jack-up

Rowan Companies plc announced that the Rowan EXL III, an EXL Class high specification jack-up rig, has been awarded a six-month contract from Cantium in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.The contract is expected to commence in early November 2018. Fire on Deepwater Horizon in GOM

In the photo, a Coast Guard MH-65C dolphin rescue helicopter and crew document the fire aboard the mobile offshore drilling unit Deepwater Horizon, while searching for survivors April 21, 2010. Multiple Coast Guard helicopters, planes and cutters responded to rescue the Deepwater Horizon's 126 person crew. Transocean Ltd. reported the fire onboard its semisubmersible drilling rig Deepwater Horizon, which occurred April 20, 2010 at approximately 10:00 p.m. central time in the United States Gulf of Mexico.

Waldrup Elected to Offshore Logistics’ Board of Directors

Offshore Logistics, Inc., announced that Robert W. Waldrup has been elected to its Board of Directors at the Company's recent Annual Shareholders' Meeting. Waldrup was elected to fill the position that was left vacant by the retirement of Harry C. Sager who served as a Director of Offshore Logistics, Inc. from 1994 to 2001. Waldrup served as Vice President-Operations of Newfield Exploration Company from 1991 to 2001 and also as a Director of Newfield from 1992 to 2001. He is employed on a contract part-time basis as advisor to the President of Newfield. From 1989 to 1991, Waldrup worked in Newfield's Drilling and Operations areas. Division Production Manager of the Eastern Gulf Division of Tenneco Oil Exploration and Production Company.

Tidewater Reorganizes Management

Tidewater Inc. announced that, effective immediately, Cliffe F. Laborde, Larry T. Rigdon and Dean E. Taylor have been promoted to the level of Executive Vice President. Each will report directly to William C. O'Malley, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. Cliffe F. Laborde will continue as General Counsel of the company. His responsibilities will also include Corporate Administration, Information Technology, Employee Benefits, Insurance and Human Resource Management, including recruiting, personnel, training and vessel crewing, all on a worldwide basis. He will also assume responsibility for overseeing management of Quality Shipyards. Larry T. Rigdon will continue his full operations responsibilities for the United States Gulf of Mexico, California and Alaska.
