Skandi Emerald AHTS Set for Petrofac’s Northern Endeavour FPSO Job

Akastor's subsidiary DDW Offshore has secured a contract extension with Petrofac for its AHTS vessel that will be put on the Northern Endeavour FPSO disconnection job offshore Australia.The contract extension follows the original one-year contract Petrofac signed with DDW Offshore for the AHTS vessel Skandi Atlantic back in September 2022.Petrofac has now awarded DDW Offshore a 9-month extension of the existing contract in Australia whereby Skandi Emerald will replace Skandi Atlantic in March 2024.The contract will last until year-end 2024, DDW Offshore informed.Skandi Emerald will continue to

Esgian has published its Week 49 Rig Market Roundup highlighting new drilling activity in the North Sea and a new licensing deal in Morocco.Drilling Activity and DiscoveriesSerica Energy is continuing with plans for its four-well drilling campaign in the UK North Sea, scheduled for 2024 and early 2025. The campaign will be carried out using the semisubmersible COSLInnovator. All four wells are production wells. The first well in the campaign will be a sidetrack of an existing well (B1z) on the Bittern field.

Petrofac Hires AHTS to Assist with Northern Endeavour FPSO Disconnection

Akastor's subsidiary DDW Offshore has won a one-year contract with Petrofac for the AHTS vessel Skandi Atlantic. The AHTS will support the disconnection of the FPSO "Northern Endeavour" together with towing and well isolations work in the Laminaria Corallina oil fields in the West Timor Sea. Boskalis Delivers HKZ Beta Substation to Tennet

Dutch marine services company Boskalis has delivered the Hollandse Kust Zuid Beta substation topside to Tennet in the Netherlands after a long journey from Dubai, where it was built.This is the second High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) offshore transformer station topside, built by Petrofac and Drydocks World Dubai for the Dutch-German transmission grid operator TenneT.The 700 MW Beta topside weighs 3,950 tonnes. It was shipped to the Dutch North Sea aboard Boskalis' Mighty Servant 3 heavy lift and transportation vessel.

Second HKZ Offshore Wind Substation Sets Sail from Dubai

The second High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) offshore transformer station topside, delivered by Petrofac and Drydocks World Dubai for the Dutch-German transmission grid operator TenneT, has set sail from the fabrication facility in the UAE, Petrofac said Monday.The 700 MW Beta topside weighs 3,950-tonne. It is being shipped to the Dutch North Sea aboard Boskalis' Mighty Servant 3 heavy lift and transportation vessel. The topside will form part of the Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) grid connection that connects the offshore wind farm zone to the Dutch mainland at the Maasvlakte.

Neptune Energy Hires Fugro for Cygnus Subsea Work

Nexans to Deliver Cables for Giant Offshore Wind Farm in Scotland

French industrial cable supplier Nexans has been awarded a contract by SSE Renewables to deliver cables for the recently sanctioned 1,075 megawatt (MW) Seagreen offshore wind farm project.The contract calls for Nexans to design, manufacture and install the high voltage (HV) onshore and offshore export cables.Construction on the 1,075 megawatt (MW) project, which is located 27km off the coast of Angus, will start next year. When completed in 2022/23, Seagreen 1 will be Scotland's largest wind farm.Nexans' factory in Charleston, South Carolina, will supply the three 65 km offshore export cables.

Drydocks World Cuts First Steel For Dutch Wind Farm Substation

Siemens Hands Over BorWin3 to TenneT

The BorWin3 offshore wind grid connection project in the German North Sea has been handed over to the German/Dutch transmission grid operator TenneT, by contractors Siemens and Petrofac.The 900 MW project will convert three-phase electric power generated by the Hohe See and Albatros offshore wind farms into direct current and transmit it 160km back to shore to the German national grid.Siemens was responsible for the grid connection system including an onshore converter station.The grid connections HelWin1 and HelWin2, BorWin2, SylWin1, and BorWin3 – for which Siemens supplied all the technology for direct current transmission – are thus now in commercial operation and are transmitting power.Siemens, together with Petrofac, was awarded the contract for BorWin3 in the spring of 2014.

Repsol Sinopec Extends Petrofac North Sea Gig

Oil&Gas Industry Records 1242 Contracts in Q1

The Oil and Gas industry reported 1242 contracts, of which 1178 were awarded contracts, said Quarterly Oil & Gas Industry Contracts Review.Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region recorded the most contracts with 569 contracts, representing around 48% of the total awarded contracts in Q1 2019, followed by Americas region with 366 contracts, accounting for 31% of the total awarded contracts.Upstream sector reported 73% of the total awarded contracts, with 862 contracts. Petrofac Secures Brunei Contract

Oilfield services provider Petrofac and its partner Serikandi Oilfield and Services Sdn Bhd, have secured a multi-annual Engineering Design Services contract to support Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) and Brunei LNG (BLNG) in Brunei.Petrofac and partner Serikandi will provide engineering across all phases of the asset lifecycle for the entire portfolio of onshore and offshore assets for BSP and BLNG.  All engineering and design work will be undertaken in Brunei, with the team located at offices in Kuala Belait.Mani Rajapathy, Managing Director, Petrofac EPS East, said the contract marks the company's return to Brunei after a number of years. Petrofac Consortium Awarded USD 4bn Project in Thailand

BorWin Gamma Platform Sails Away

The offshore converter platform, BorWin gamma, has now safely set sail from Dubai and begun its journey to  its offshore site in the German part of the North Sea.Through the Gulf of Oman, the 18,000 ton ‘topside’ will pass into the Red Sea before going through the Suez Canal onto the Mediterranean and past Gibraltar. Petrofac Wins Oman LPG Project

Petrofac said it has signed a contract worth nearly $600 million with Salalah LPG SFZCO LLC (SLPG), wholly owned subsidiary of Oman Oil Facilities Development Company LLC (OOFDC), to undertake the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of its Salalah LPG extraction project in the southern part of Oman. Under the terms of the 36-month lump sum EPC contract, which will be triggered when SLPG issue to Petrofac the Notice To Proceed (NTP), Petrofac's scope of work will include construction of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unit and associated facilities, including tie-ins to existing pipeline infrastructure, together with LPG storage and jetty facilities at the Port of Salalah.

Teamwork Smoothes Complex FPSO Repair

Work to repair five separate areas on board FPSO FPF-003, operated by Petrofac South East Asia Pte Ltd using SPS has been completed on-station in the Mubdala, Jasmine oil field. The repair work on this ABS classed vessel, built in 1976 and converted in 2005, was completed 15 days ahead of schedule with no disruption to day to day operations. Ithaca Energy's FPF - 1 Nears Completion

Providing an update on the status of the on-going Greater Stella Area (“GSA”) development programme Ithaca Energy informed that the floating production facility (FPF-1) modifications programme undertaken by Petrofac in the Remontowa shipyard in Poland is in the final stages of completion, with only a limited number of commissioning activities requiring close out prior to sail-away. Commissioning operations on the FPF-1 have continued to progress well over recent weeks and are now materially complete. The operations team have been living on the vessel since May, the marine works have been finished and the engineering teams are in the process of closing out handover of the various processing and utilities systems to the operations team.

Petrofac Wins $100 Million North Sea Deal

Petrofac is set to build on its provision of reimbursable services for Total E&P UK following the award of an enhanced three-year contract extension on the Alwyn and Dunbar platforms in the Northern North Sea. The contract, worth in the region of $100 million, comes with two one-year options and has been reconfigured, with Petrofac providing an enhanced range of offshore services. This award builds on a relationship with Total which began in 2005 to support the Alwyn and Dunbar assets, and will secure more than 150 offshore jobs.
