Marine Security Leader Offers Free Vessel Tracking Software for Mobile Devices Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – GOST (Global Ocean Security Technologies), celebrating its 10th year as a world leader in marine security, tracking, monitoring and video
surveillance systems, announced today the release of a new free app – the GOST Tracker App.

A revolution in mobile vessel management, the GOST Tracker App allows boat owners to link to vessel data from a corresponding Nav-Tracker device and other GOST tracking systems via a smartphone or tablet with an easy-to-use, secure interface. The
intuitive application allows users to log in with the same username and password used to access their account on the GOST website. Users can remotely monitor and control Nav-Tracker devices installed on any number of vessels, while fleet managers can view fleets of vessels, as their needs require.

Once users log in, the GOST Tracker App displays a global map with icons showing locations of all vessels in the user’s fleet. Each icon can be clicked to review expanded details. When a vessel is selected, the date and time of the last report received is displayed, as well as the most recent latitude and longitude, boat speed, heading, vessel status (whether security system is armed or disarmed) and nearby points-of-interest. From this screen the vessel can be polled for its current location and the geo-fence or full system can be remotely armed/disarmed, depending on which version of the system is installed. An armed system will provide immediate notification of any movement or, for users with a full security system, if an alarm is triggered. Tracking history can also be displayed on Google Maps, which are embedded in the App.

“Since its release, the Nav-Tracker product line has been used to protect and recover thousands of vessels worldwide, as well as to provide onshore support for long distance cruisers and for a number of global fisheries management programs,” said Jay Keenan, president and CEO, GOST. “We constantly strive to streamline and simplify customer interaction with their tracking system and vastly improve the user experience. With the combination of our tracking app and the notifications Nav-Tracker provides, our system gives users those few extra moments that can mean the difference between prevention and tragedy.”

The GOST Nav-Tracker is a global Inmarsat satellite-based tracking device that offers reliable, remote vessel tracking and management from anywhere in the world. Designed specifically for tracking a stolen vessel, the Nav-Tracker also allows family and friends to provide support if the boat is in peril or notify maritime authorities if there is a deviation from the float plan.
