TechnipFMC, DOF-owned Vessel Catches Fire in Brazil

Skandi Buzios, a pipelay support vessel owned by TechnipFMC and DOF, caught fire Friday morning in a Brazilian port.The Brazilian media and some social media accounts on Friday showed images and videos of the burning vessel with thick smoke billowing above it and firefighters trying to quell the fire.The incident happened at Porto do Açu, in São João da Barra, in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro, and no injuries have been reported.Offshore Engineer has reached out to TechnipFMC seeking more info. "On Friday morning, June 2, a fire occurred onboard Skandi Buzios while the vessel was alongside Porto do Açu in Brazil. All personnel are safe, and no serious injuries were sustained. The fire has been brought under control after efforts by our crew, Porto do Açu, and local authorities.

DOF Subsea Charters Jones Act-compliant Offshore Vessel

Oslo-listed Subsea services company DOF Subsea has entered into an agreement with Otto Candies for the charter of the Jones Act compliant vessel Chloe Candies for a firm period of two years. The deal follows on from the charter of the Ross Candies, DOF Subsea, a subsidiary of DOF ASA, said."The charter period commenced in May, with the intent to utilize the vessel to support operations for existing North American clients in the GOM," DOF Subsea added. In addition, DOF's subsidiary DOF Rederi has sold the vessel Skandi Sotra vessel to an international buyer with delivery in first half of 2022.

DOF Subsea Bags Three-year MPSV Charter with Exxon in Australia

ExxonMobil has awarded a long-term contract to offshore vessel owner DOF Subsea for the provisions of multi-purpose supply vessel services in Australia.The contract is for three years firm plus two one-year extension options. Under the contract, DOF will provide an MPSV to Esso Australia, an Australian Subsidiary of ExxonMobil."Preparatory support services associated with the contract are underway with the delivery of the vessel to follow later in 2022," DOF said.Mons S. Aase, CEO DOF ASA said: "This is our second long-term contract with Esso in Australia and a very important win for us.

DOF's Norskan Clinches AHTS Deals with Petrobras

Norwegian offshore support vessel firm DOF said this week its Brazilian subsidiary Norskan had secured a new long-term contract and extended another one with the Brazilian oil company Petrobras.Anchor handler Skandi Botafogo has been awarded a 3-year contract with Petrobras to operate as AHTS with a startup in the fourth quarter of 2021 and 500 optional days to be mutually agreed.Skandi Amazonas AHTS has been awarded a 1-year extension on a contract with Petrobras until September 2022.Mons S.

Petrobras Awards Long-Term Mero Deal to DOF's Skandi Salvador Vessel

Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF has won a contract with the Petrobras-led Libra consortium to provide a multi-purpose support vessel for work at the Mero offshore oil field in Brazil.The Libra Consortium is led by Petrobras - with a 40% interest - in partnership with Shell Brasil (20%) ; Total (20%), CNODC (10%) and CNOOC Limited (10%). The contract for DOF is for three years, and DOF will deploy its Skandi Salvador vessel that will operate 2 x WROV for 24 hours providing inspection, maintenance, and subsea commissioning services in water depths of up to 2,500m, including shallow dive services with Oceânica. DOF in Standstill Agreement with Lenders

Norwegian offshore support and subsea service vessel owners DOF and DOF Subsea have reached stand-still agreements with lenders representing to 93% secured debt of DOF companies. The agreement means all payments of principal and interest to the secured lenders are suspended until 30 June 2020 on certain customary terms and conditions. The deal does not cover payments on the NOK 100 million credit facility provided to DOF Subsea AS by certain of its lenders on March 27, 2020 to cover its immediate liquidity needs…

DOF Wins AHTS Contracts in NZ

Norwegian offshore supply vessel (OSV) operator DOF has won work for two anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) contracts to support OMV's drilling operations in New Zealand.Two  AHTS vessels, Skandi Emerald and Skandi Atlantic, have been contracted to support drilling rig COSL Prospector for two wells firm plus two options for additional wells.Both vessels are currently supporting the same rig with another Operator in New Zealand, and commencement with OMV will be on completion of this campaign during Q4 2019.Mons S. DOF Bags Three ROV Contracts in Brazil

Norwegian supply shipping company DOF Subsea has been awarded contracts for three remotely operated (ROV) Support Vessels (RSV) with Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras).All contracts have a firm duration of three years and can be extended for another two years, informed the offshore support vessel owner.The vessels allocated for the contracts are Skandi Commander, Skandi Olympia and Skandi Chieftain, all owned by DOF Rederi AS (100 % owned by DOF ASA).Each vessel will be equipped with two state of the art work class ROVs owned and operated by DOF Subsea Group. All three contracts are expected to commence in 2nd quarter 2019. Estimated total firm contract value is NOK 1,3 billion. Skandi Olympia (built 2009) has been on charter with Fugro since her delivery in 2009.

DOF Sells Skandi Marstein

Norwegian supply shipping company DOF sold and delivered the 1996 built platform supply vessel (PSV) "Skandi Marstein" to a new owner. The sale will not have any significant liquidity impact or impact on the accounts. The vessel has been in lay up since late autumn 2017. The sale is in line with DOF Group's strategy to divest in the oldest part of the fleet. Last month, Skandi Niteroi, a Brazilian built pipelay support vessel (PLSV) owned by the joint venture between DOF Subsea (50%) and TechnipFMC (50%), awarded a contract by McDermott on the Atlanta Project for Queiroz Galvão. Under the joint venture agreement, TechnipFMC is responsible for the engineering and management of the flexible pipelay, while Norskan S.A., a DOF ASA subsidiary, is responsible for the marine operations.

DOF Subsea Shelves IPO Plans

Norway's DOF Subsea has decided to hold off on launching its initial public offering (IPO), citing volatile market conditions. Company shareholders DOF ASA, with 51 percent, and a fund managed by First Reserve, with 49 percent ownership, announced in May that they were considering an opportunity for the company to apply for a listing on Oslo Stock Exchange. The shareholders have now decided to shelve these plans, instead opting to wait for market conditions to improve. “Since the review started, the general market sentiment for the oil service sector has been volatile, and oil price as well as pricing of oil services stocks has dropped significantly,” the company said in a press release.

PLSV Skandi Búzios Begins Work off Brazil

Skandi Búzios, a pipelay support vessel (PLSV) owned 50/50 by a joint venture formed between TechnipFMC and DOF Subsea, has commenced an eight-year charter contract with Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), as scheduled on April 13, 2017. Skandi Búzios is the sister ship of the Skandi Açu, which started its charter contract on August 13, 2016. These two vessels each have 650 tons flexible pipelay tension capacity, enabling the installation of large diameter flexible pipes in the ultra-deepwater Brazilian pre-salt area.

DOF Bags Contracts from Asco and Eni

Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF has been awarded charter contracts for a platform supply vessel (PSV) and an anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS). DOF said on Wednesday that the company won a two-year firm contract plus options with Asco Marine for the Skandi Aukra PSV. In addition, Eni Norge awarded DOF with a 13-month call-off contract, with a minimum 60 days firm agreement for the AHTS Skandi Iceman. Both contracts commenced with effect from December 2016. With a multi-national workforce in excess of 4 ,000 personnel, DOF ASA is an international group of companies which owns and operates a fleet of modern offshore/subsea vessels, and engineering capacity to service both the offshore and subsea market.

DOF Sells Skandi Inspector

DOF Subsea, a subsidiary of DOF ASA, has entered an agreement to sell the 1979-built multipurpose offshore vessel Skandi Inspector to an undisclosed international buyer.   The 80.8 m, 2,355 dwt vessel is expected to be delivered before end of 2015.

Statoil Exercises Skandi Vega Option

DOF ASA announced that Statoil has exercised its first one year option for the 2010-built anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) Skandi Vega.   The option also includes ROV, DOF ASA said, noting that the vessel is firm until mid-May 2016.   Skandi Vega is an anchor handler/construction vessel of Aker AH 04 CD design with approximately 350 ton bollard pull.

DOF Subsea Wins Several Contracts in Asia Pacific

DOF Subsea, a subsidiary of DOF ASA, reported it has been awarded several new and extended existing contracts by clients in the Asia Pacific region.   According to DOF Subsea, the contract awards will improve the utilization of the vessels Skandi Hercules and Skandi Hawk during the first half of 2015, with an additional approximately four months. The scope of work includes project management and engineering, subsea construction, FPSO moorings and deep water survey systems installation work.

Wärtsilä Signs Extensive Services Supply Agreement

Wärtsilä has signed an extensive three-year services supply agreement with the Norwegian DOF Group in the end of April 2014. The agreement covers services for all Wärtsilä equipment, including engines and propulsion as well as electrical and automation systems, for DOF's vessels with Wärtsilä equipment operating in Norway, Brazil and Singapore. DOF Group is a global company that provides a comprehensive range of purpose-built offshore vessels and subsea services to the offshore oil and gas industry worldwide. The company owns and operates a fleet of 77 vessels.

STX Norway Offshore to Build AHT Supply Vessels

STX Norway Offshore has through its subsidiary STX Brazil Offshore entered into two new contracts for Norskan Offshore for the building of two Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) of AH 11 design. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2012 and 2013. These vessels are the first of the new AH 11 design from STX Norway Offshore Design in Ålesund, designed with special focus on deep water operations. STX Norway Offshore to Build AHTS in Brazil

STX Norway Offshore has through its subsidiary STX Brazil Offshore entered into a new contract for the building of one Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessel for Norskan Offshore in Brazil. The vessel is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2013. This vessel is the third in a series of new AH 11 designs from STX Norway Offshore Design. We currently have a total of seven vessels under construction for DOF in Brazil. Norskan Offshore is a subsidiary of DOF ASA. The vessel is designed by STX Norway Offshore Design in Ålesund, Norway, and will be built at STX Brazil Offshore in Niteroi, Brazil.

Aker Yards Wins Unique Design Solution Wins DOF Contract

Aker Yards has been awarded a contract with DOF ASA to build an innovative LNG-powered platform supply vessel. The vessel is designed and equipped with the newest and most innovative environmentally friendly equipment and solutions. After delivery from Aker Yards in in 2010, the vessel will operate on charter for StatoilHydro ASA. The selected solutions and engine systems for the new and modern platform supply vessel (PSV) are a response to the focus on more environmental cautious ship transportation of various bulk cargos, liquids and equipment to and from offshore locations world wide. The vessel will be equipped with duel fuel engines able to run on both LNG and ordinary marine diesel.

Fugro Awarded Five-Year Positioning Contract by DOF ASA

Fugro has won a contract from DOF ASA for the provision of precise satellite positioning for the entire DOF fleet of more than 70 vessels globally. The contract is valid for a firm five years with two optional years and also includes the new vessels in DOF’s continuously expanding fleet. DOF an owner and operator of purpose-built vessels providing services to the offshore energy sector across the entire offshore lifecycle. Fugro, a provider of precise satellite positioning to the offshore oil and gas industry, will provide three completely independent high precision differential Global Navigation Satellite Systems to DOF. In addition DOF’s subsea vessels will be equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software developed by Fugro, providing a truly independent solution for each vessel.

Transas Signs S-VDR Contract with DOF ASA

Transas Norway AS has signed a new contract for S-VDR with DOF Management AS of Storebø, Austevoll in Norway. The agreement covering the entire existing fleet of 13 vessels, began aboard Skandi Admiral in late June. DOF Management AS is a daughter company of DOF ASA, a group of companies which owns and operates a modern fleet of offshore service vessels, and also owns entities which provide services to the subsea market. DOF was founded in 1981, and was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in 1997. Historically DOF has mainly operated in Europe, but today is highly international with branch offices all over the world.
