Trelleborg Steps Into Canadian Market

Trelleborg’s offshore and marine systems operations will, for the first time, showcase a number of its latest product developments at the Atlantic Canada Petroleum Show (ACPS), Newfoundland, later this month. These include thermal insulation, over bend and fire deluge systems, as well as subsea buoyancy and fender solutions.
 
Trelleborg will present its U.S. Coast Guard approved Elastopipe; a corrosion-free alternative to carbon steel deluge systems made from synthetic rubber, as well as its SeaCushion fenders. Ideal for use in ship-to-ship operations and offshore structures, they will never deflate, burst or sink.
 
Doug Marti, market development manager within Trelleborg’s offshore operation, said, “Canada is a growing area of interest in the oil and gas industry and we are keen to work more closely with stake holders in the region.
 
“All of our solutions are designed to meet the most stringent offshore requirements, offering the highest level of resistance against heat, abrasion and environmental impact, to name a few. We control our entire manufacturing process from end-to-end, providing our customers with transparency and peace of mind.”
 
Trelleborg’s Elastopipe can withstand jet fires with a heat flux of 390kW/m2, temperatures above +2,552 °F / +1,400 °C and flame speeds that exceed the speed of sound. In addition, its Vikotherm S1, made from non-syntactic silicone, can be cured at room temperature without exposure to air, making it resistant to cracking and shrinking. The Vikotherm™ R2 offers improved elasticity, as well as enhanced process and manufacturing flexibility, as the system can be applied on site, anywhere around the world.
 
Trelleborg’s subsea Distributed Buoyancy Modules are fitted at any point along the length of a pipeline to provide optimum uplift and to reduce a drilling riser’s net weight in water. They ensure that the structure and drilling vessel are fully supported. Similarly, its bend restrictors reduce the damage to the tubular at the termination point, by significantly decreasing the point loading.
 
SeaGuard fenders are suitable for use against quay walls and in ship-to-ship applications. They combine a durable, non-marking finish with low maintenance requirements and are especially well suited for use with soft-skinned ships thanks to their low hull pressures. The toughest floating fenders on the market, SeaCushion fenders feature a superior grade foam core, an extra tough skin and a chain-tire net, making them suitable for even the most demanding ship-to-ship and offshore operations.
