Tug Avik Joins Crowley’s Alaska Fleet

Crowley's petroleum services group has taken delivery of its newest tug, Avik, to serve in the company's oil transportation and distribution fleet. The 76-ft. tug was designed by Crowley's Vessel Management Services team and built by Dakota Creek Industries in Anacortes, Wash. It was delivered on June 3 and has been put into service in Alaska. The purpose-built tug was designed for both shallow water and ocean towing operations. It features a raised bridge for improved visibility, an electric tow winch for coastal towing and fendered push knees for river or beaching operations. The Avik is powered by three Caterpillar 3406E diesel engines generating 1,350 hp.

Crowley Announces Management Team for Petroleum Services Group

Crowley Maritime Corporation announces the appointment of Bruce Barto to vice president and general manager of its newly formed Petroleum Services group based in Seattle. Barto has profit and loss responsibility for Petroleum Services and reports directly to Tom Crowley Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Crowley Maritime Corporation. Reporting to Barto are Bruce Harland who has been promoted to director, operations and will be relocating from Houston to Seattle; Jim Dwight, sales manager, Alaska; Royal Harris, manager, pricing; Chris Dugan, sales manager, oil transportation; and Hugh Stepaniuk who has been promoted to director, finance.

Grune To Lead Crowley Ship Assist and Escort Services Group

Crowley Maritime Corporation announced the appointment of Robe Grune to the position of Vice President and General Manager of Crowley's newly formed ship Assist and Escort Services based in Seattle. Grune is responsible for profit and loss for the Ships Assist and Escort Services group and reports directly to Tom Crowley, Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Crowley Maritime Corporation. Crowley Reorganizes its Marine Services Subsidiary

Crowley Maritime Corporation announced that has reorganized its Crowley Marine Services subsidiary into three distinct operating groups – ship assist and escort services, petroleum services, and energy and marine services. Steve Peterson, senior vice president and general manager, is now managing energy and marine services and will relocate from Jacksonville to Seattle. Rob Grune, vice president and general manager, is managing ship assist and escort services and Bruce Barto, vice president and general manager, is directing Petroleum Services, also from Seattle. Each of these individuals reports directly to chairman, president and CEO, Tom Crowley Jr., and has profit and loss responsibilities for their groups.
