Russia's Novorossiisk port resumed oil loadings after a severe storm on Thursday, two sources familiar with the port's operations told Reuters.The loadings started as the weather conditions improved after the storm had suspended exports since last week, one of the sources said.The nearby Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) terminal, a main export route for Kazakhstan's crude oil, said on Thursday it had also resumed oil loadings.(Reuters - Reporting by Reuters; Editing by Kirsten Donovan)

At least 10 vessels carrying Russia-linked cargoes of crude and refined products were approaching the United States on Wednesday, as suppliers rushed to deliver ahead of the U.S. government's deadline to wind down Russian energy purchases, data from traders and Refinitiv Eikon showed.The United States, the world's biggest oil consumer, this month banned imports of Russian energy products due to the invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow calls a "special operation." Russia has ordered the mandatorydisinfection of ships arriving at the Black Sea ports of Novorossiisk and Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka from Iran, Italy and South Korea because of the coronavirus, a  document seen by Reuters showed.A branch of Rospotrebnadzor, Russia's consumer safety watchdog, has ordered port agents "to arrange the disinfectionof ships arriving from these countries before the border is opened" in the city of Novorossiisk, the document showed.Novorossiisk port is one of the biggest on the Black Sea.

Russian pipeline monopoly Transneft has suspended oil loadings through all Russian ports except for Makhachkala due to bad weather conditions, RIA news agency said on Monday. Russia is the world's second biggest oil exporter behind Saudi Arabia, shipping around 4 million barrels of oil per day. Just over half is sent from Russia's largest ports - Novorossiisk, Kozmino, Primorsk and Ust-Luga. Igor Dyomin, Transneft spokesman, told RIA that loadings from the Pacific port of Kozmino were stopped on Oct. 27 due to a storm. The Baltic ports of Primorsk and Ust-Luga have also stopped loadings due to a storm warning. Earlier on Monday, Transneft suspended oil supplies via its Tikhoretsk-Novorossiisk pipeline due to poor weather conditions at the port.

Twp foreign motor ships, which are in distress in the Tsemesskaya bay, could not get afloat from banks after a strong gale pushed the Barcelona and Ibragim-R motor ships closer to the shore. The Barcelon,a with a displacement of 6,000 tonnes and at 116 meters long, is now in the area of Cape Doob, while the Ibragim-R, with a displacement of 6,500 tonnes and at 105 meters long, is in the area of Kabardinka. According to Itar Tassa, the Novorossiisk port has not received requests for assistance from the motor ships. A total of 43 crewmembers remain on the ships. The continuing strong gale with gusts of up to 18 meters per second interferes with evacuating people and inspecting the state of the ships’ bottoms. The motor ships are without cargoes.
