Far Eastern Center for Shipbuilding and Shiprepairing is being created in Primorye. The Primorsky Territory Administration hosted a meeting dedicated to this new center. United Shipbuilding Corporation to Be Officially Registered
The RF President's advisor on the military and technical policy Alexander Burutin announced that United Shipbuilding Corporation will be registered not later than July 22 in Saint-Petersburg. Besides, the company's strategy up to 2020 will be opened to public in July-August this year. The strategy will focus on the development of civil ship building. Russia Will Consolidate its Shipbuilding Industry
Russia's shipbuilding industry has launched a sweeping modernization program. President Vladimir Putin has signed decrees setting up a United Shipbuilding Corporation (known by its Russian initials, OSK) to consolidate large federal companies engaged in shipbuilding. Within the next few months, three regional subholdings will be formed. One of them - the Western Center - will unite shipbuilding companies in St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad. The Northern Center will take care of all Severodvinsk plants in the Arkhangelsk Region, and the Far Eastern Center will bring together companies located in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Vladivostok and Nakhodka.
Putin to Sign Russian Shipbuilding Accord
Russia's President Vladimir Putin will reportedly sign a decree to set up a United Shipbuilding Corporation, which will be headed by Alexander Burutin, presidential aide for the defense sector, according to a report on http://en.rian.ru. The United Shipbuilding Corporation is a government-sponsored project to combine all state financial assets in the shipbuilding sector.
