Dutra Wins $9.6 Million Contract for Dredging in Brooklyn

The Dutra Group, based in San Rafael, Calif., has been awarded a contract to perform maintenance dredging in Brooklyn, N.Y.The $9,639,000 firm-fixed-price contract was awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District.

GLDD Reports $118.8 Million in New Dredging Contracts

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation has secured several major dredging awards totaling $118.8 million, the U.S.' largest dredging services provider announced on Wednesday.The awarded deepening, coastal protection, and maintenance dredging work includes projects in South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana and New York.The Post 45 Contract 4 Charleston Lower Harbor New Work Dredging Project (Capital, S.C., $52.9 million) consists of maintenance and new work dredging of material from the Charleston Lower Harbor to Hugh Leatherman Terminal.

Tomer Joins Parsons Brinckerhoff

Richard Tomer has been named a Regulatory and Permitting Specialist at Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global infrastructure strategic consulting, engineering and program/construction management organization. In his new position, Mr. Tomer will provide technical regulatory services throughout the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut region for resiliency and waterfront projects, with an early focus on post-Superstorm Sandy rebuilding. Mr. Tomer comes to Parsons Brinckerhoff from the U.S.

Latest DofD Navy Contracts

US Department of Defense contracts issued include a US Army Corps of Engineers, New York District dredging contract, for Great Lakes Dredge and Dock. Secondly a Navy contract to Electric Boat Corp. for work related to Virginia-class submarines. Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company LLC, Oak Brook, Ill., was awarded a firm-fixed-price, option-eligible, non-multi-year contract for $20,684,610 for the New York and New Jersey 50-foot Harbor Deepening Project and shoal removal. Performance location will be Staten Island, N.Y., Bayonne, N.J., and Elizabeth, N.J., from fiscal 2013 other authority funds. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - New York District, New York, N.Y., is the contracting office (W912DS-13-C-0045).

DofD Navy Contracts for UUV's & a NJ Dredging Project

Hydroid Inc has been contracted to deliver the Navy with unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV's) and Great Lakes Dredge Dock by the USACE for placement of dredged materials at  the Keansburg, NJ, project. Hydroid Inc, Pocasset, Mass., is being awarded a $36,323,734 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the procurement of unmanned underwater vehicles. The unmanned underwater vehicles provide the military force with very shallow water and shallow water mine countermeasures as well as underwater object localization tools. Work will be performed in Pocasset, Mass., and is expected to be completed by September 2018.
