The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced a crewmember from Allseas' pipelayer Solitaire Tuesday approximately 13 miles south of Port Fourchon, Louisiana.Coast Guard Eighth District and Coast Guard Sector New Orleans command center watchstanders received a report at approximately noon Tuesday from the Solitaire of a 65-year-old male crewmember experiencing heart attack-like symptoms. Sector New Orleans watchstanders diverted a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew to assist.

US Coast Guard Medevacs Five Passengers Off Cruise Ships Within 24 Hours

US Coast Guard helicopter aircrews medically evacuated four separate passengers off three different cruise ships, off the southern California coast, during a 24-hour period beginning Friday night.A 47-year-old woman, reportedly suffering from a progressive acute illness, was hoisted off the cruise ship Carnival Panorama, which was 100 miles south of San Diego. The cruise ship and an MH-60 Jayhawk aircrew from Coast Guard Sector San Diego rendezvoused 100 miles south of San Diego.

Man Overboard from Bulker Near Southwest Pass

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a man overboard from the Hong-Kong-registered bulk carrier Shandong Fu Xin approximately 97 miles southeast of Southwest Pass channel in Louisiana.The search is for a 5-foot 31-year-old Vietnamese male.Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a radio call at approximately 6:35 p.m. Thursday on VHF-FM channel 16 from the crew of the Shandong Fu Xin stating a crewmember reportedly failed to show up to watch that afternoon. The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced an oil platform worker last Thursday near Breton Sound, Louisiana.Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a notification at approximately 6:25 p.m. from the oil platform Breton Sound 21 of a  worker sustaining serious injuries to the arm, Coast Guard said Friday.Watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to assist. The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted the worker, and transferred him to University Medical Center in New Orleans.

An ailing shore labor worker was medevaced off an Indian-flagged bulk carrier Thursday near Pointe a la Hache, La., the U.S. Coast Guard said.The Coast Guard said its watchstanders at Sector New Orleans received a call at approximately 10 a.m. stating a man on board Great Eastern's Kamsarmax bulker Jag Arnav was unresponsive due to unknown circumstances.A spokesperson for Great Eastern Shipmanagement said the man is a shore laborer who was not feeling well while performing hatch cleaning at Magnolia anchorage on the Mississippi River.
