Pentair Opens Aquaculture Center of Excellence

Mindful that fish farming has the potential to help meet an expanding  population's need for protein in a world with increasing water constraints, Pentair announced the opening of its Pentair Aquatic Eco-Systems' World Aquaculture Technology Engineering & Research Center of Excellence in Apopka, Florida. The center, which consists of 12,400 square feet of laboratories and fish culture systems, will be used for demonstration, research and teaching activities. Built to allow full connectivity to the Internet, customers and educational institutions will be able to monitor online the progress of fish culture trials, including water quality, feeding, feed conversion ratios, growth rates, energy consumption and harvesting activities.

EPA Award for Pentair

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Pentair's Aquatic Systems with a 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency. Pentair's accomplishments will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2015. Pentair, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2013 is being honored for its leadership in manufacturing products that earn the ENERGY STAR, the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency. This is Pentair's second consecutive Partner of the Year award. In order for pool pumps to earn the ENERGY STAR certification, the pool pumps must be at least 30-72 percent more energy efficient than typical pumps.

Pentair Reports 3Q 2014 Sales of $1.8 bi

Pentair plc today announced third quarter 2014 sales of $1.8 billion. Sales were up 3 percent compared to sales for the same period last year. Third quarter 2014 earnings per diluted share from continuing operations ("EPS") were $1.00, up 22 percent from adjusted EPS of $0.82 in the third quarter of last year. On a GAAP basis, the company reported EPS of $0.81 in the third quarter of 2013. Adjusted EPS and operating income exclude repositioning costs, acquisition and redomicile-related expenses, gain/loss on sale of a business and certain tax items. Third quarter 2014 operating income was $267 million, up 12 percent compared to adjusted operating income for third quarter 2013…

Pentair Announces Quarterly Cash Dividend

Pentair plc announced that it will pay a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.30 per share on November 7, 2014 to shareholders of record at the close of business on October 24, 2014.   Pentair had previously announced on May 20, 2014 the approval by its shareholders of an ordinary cash dividend of $1.20 per share in four equal quarterly installments of $0.30 in each of the third and fourth quarters of 2014 and the first and second quarters of 2015. Pentair paid dividends of $0.96 per share in 2013. Pentair paid dividends of $0.25 per share in each of the first two quarters of 2014 and $0.30 per share in the third quarter of 2014. Pentair has increased its dividend for 38 consecutive years.

Pentair plc 2Q 2014 Sales at $1.9 bi, Down 3%

Pentair plc today announced second quarter 2014 sales of $1.9 billion. Sales were down 3 percent compared to sales for the same period last year. Adjusted second quarter 2014 earnings per diluted share were $1.04, up 13 percent from adjusted EPS of $0.92 in the second quarter of last year. On a GAAP basis, the company reported EPS of $0.82 compared to EPS of $0.75 in the second quarter of 2013. Adjusted EPS and operating income exclude repositioning costs, acquisition and redomicile-related expenses, gain/loss on sale of a business and certain tax items. USS Freedom Uses Everpure Bromination

The USS Freedom, commissioned into active service on Nov. 8 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is the first of the U.S. Navy’s new class of agile, high-tech warships designed for fast response in shallow, coastal waters to counter threats from mines, submarines and fast surface craft. The Freedom represents a new U.S. maritime strategy and will play an important role in the Navy’s future. Pentair’s involvement with the project began three years ago when Wisconsin’s Marinette Marine Corporation was tasked with building the first of 55 ships. Marinette Marine called on Pentair to build the ship’s water filtration system, using the Everpure bromination systems. Safer and easier to use aboard ships and submarines than chlorine, Everpure bromination systems are installed aboard most U.S.
