Valvoline, Cummins Announce Alliance

April 30, 2001

The Valvoline Company of Lexington, Ky., and Cummins Inc. (CMI) of Colombus, Ind., recently signed another five-year sales and marketing alliance, which contributed to both companies' growth during the last quarter. As outlined in the agreement, Cummins endorses and recommends Valvoline's Premium Blue engine oil for its heavy duty diesel engines and sells the product through its distributor. Cummins engine plants will also use Valvoline's lubricants, oils and greases. Both companies actively promote Valvoline's Premium Blue oils and are working together to meet the new 2002 American Petroleum Institute (API) requirements for oils to be used in future engines. Additionally, Cummins maintains its own set of engine oil standards, and Valvoline has been the first to meet key standards.
