Venezuela Offshore Rig Sinks

According to a May 13 report from The New York Times, President Hugo Chávez announced early in the day that an offshore natural gas exploration rig, the Aban Pearl, leased to Venezuela’s national oil company sank off the coast of northeastern Venezuela and forced the rig to evacuate all 95 of its workers. The cause of the sinking is unclear.
