Dometic Names Hickinbotham Product Manager EMEA Marine

Dometic has appointed 18-year company veteran Paul Hickinbotham as its Product Manager EMEA Marine. In this newly created role, Hickinbotham is tasked with helping to drive product innovation and customer responsiveness by channeling the latest consumer feedback and market intelligence for each specific region in both the OEM and after-market sectors through to Dometic’s product development and sales teams. Previously EMEA Director - Sales and Administrations & Commercial Division at Dometic, Hickinbotham will lead a dedicated team from his U.K.

Cruising on pleasure boats goes back a long way on the large lakes of Central Europe. There has been a so-called White Fleet in Switzerland for more than 175 years. Now, the Lake Lucerne Navigation Company’s (SGV) latest generation of passenger boats has the countenance of a superyacht, designed by the Bremenhaven company, judel/vrolijk & co – design GmbH from the DEUTSCHE YACHTEN, Superyacht Germany working group. Following on from the MS Saphir, the SGV now has its flagship under construction.

Brisbane Pilots Receive Simrad Radar Upgrade

Pilots in the Port of Brisbane, one of Australia’s fastest growing container ports, are using the word “unmatched” when describing the performance of new navigational equipment from electronic navigation specialist Simrad, a brand within the Navico group. Installed during the recent refit of the pilot boat Amity, the equipment installations include an NSS12 evo2, 12-inch chart-plotter and multifunction display with GPS positioning, supported by a Simrad GS25 GPS antenna, as well as the recently-launched Simrad Halo 3ft Radar operating with the latest Pulse Compression technology.

Simrad Launches Commercial Radar System

Simrad's R3016 12U/6X IMO SOLAS CAT 3 Radar System for the commercial shipping market in on the market. The new R3016 12U/6X  IMO type approved radar solution is ideal for use aboard CAT 3 SOLAS vessels1, workboats, tugs and coastal fishing boats. Its 12-kilowatt X-Band transceiver and 6-foot open array scanner are designed for high reliability and low maintenance. Alongside the 6-foot array comes the new Simrad R3016, a compact control unit with a 1366x768-pixel high-definition 15.6” diagonal widescreen display.

Two Simrad Radar Displays Launched

The new Simrad R2009 and R3016 Radar control units, two dedicated radar displays have been launched today for use with Simrad’s award winning radar antenna solutions. The Simrad R2009 Radar control features a 9” portrait display. The Simrad R3016 boasts a 16” wide-screen display. Both systems utilise an intuitive control interface with the latest generation of digital tuning to allow for optimal situational awareness in the most adverse conditions. Outstanding target resolutions are achieved using beam sharpening technology when paired with the Simrad Broadband 3G/4G Radomes or Halo Pulse Compression arrays. The R2009 and R3016 Radar control units are well suited for use as “stand alone” dedicated radar stations.

Glomaris Enters Malaysian Market with Orkim Deal

Malaysia-based Orkim Ship Management (ORKIM) is the latest shipping company to turn to E Foqus for its software solution in commercial and voyage operations. Orkim is a tanker operator for Clean Petroleum Product (CPP) in the region, having long-term contracts with oil and gas operators. “Orkim will act as E Foqus’ ambassador in this region, and we can expect Malaysian shippers to take a keen interest in the increased efficiency and stronger business processes that the company will enjoy with Glomaris Systems,” said Niels Ammendrup the COO of E Foqus.

Iran Fuel Oil Revenue Up 30 pct

Iran has earned $1.35 billion for selling more than 3 million tonnes of fuel oil in the 10 months to Jan. 21, up 30 percent in revenue from the same period of last year, oil ministry news website Shana cited an official as saying. The OPEC member also earned $963 million in gasoil revenue during the same period, a 30 percent increase from last year, and sold 107,000 tonnes of heating oil, Shana cited Mohammadreza Mazloumi, manager of the commercial division at National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) as saying. Iran has a target to sell 4 million tonnes of fuel oil and gasoil during the current Iranian year to March 20, 2015, he added. The Iranian year started on March 21, 2014. U.S.

Willard Licenses SeaArk Commercial, Military Boats

Willard Marine, Inc., has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with SeaArk Marine, Inc., to build all of its commercial and military boat models, of which 7,000 have been sold worldwide since SeaArk Marine’s founding nearly 60 years ago. Based in Monticello, Ark., SeaArk Marine is family owned and was operated by the McClendon family beginning in 1959, and they experienced great success delivering boats to all 50 states, every U.S. held territory, and over 70 countries around the world.

(NYSE: CAT) today announced related changes at the vice president level, including the retirement of Vice President Steve Gosselin. Dometic Sea XChange Watermaker Launched

Dometic Marine launched the Dometic Sea Xchange Sea Water Reverse Osmosis system following the confirmation of an exclusive worldwide marketing agreement with Spot Zero Reverse Osmosis Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., USA. Under this agreement, Dometic said it will market and sell Spot Zero watermakers as it expands its presence in the fresh water and sea water reverse osmosis systems marketplace. Using a conventional reverse osmosis process to convert sea water into potable (drinking) water, the Dometic Sea Xchange is suited for a range of commercial and workboat applications.

TITAN Organizational Changes: Hoddinott, Neil

TITAN Salvage appointed Mark Hoddinott to global director, marketing and strategy, responsible for developing, delivering and managing the company's strategic marketing and business development plans. He will operate out of Titan's United Kingdom (UK) facility at Newhaven, East Sussex, and will report to Rich Habib, TITAN's vice president. Hoddinott, who will continue his role on the senior management team, will work closely with TITAN's commercial division. Additionally, TITAN's Neil Ives has been appointed operations manager, Europe. Ives' responsibilities include managing the sales and marketing efforts for the region, pursuing new business, drafting proposals and contracts, supporting the salvage warehouse and operations and overseeing the administrative requirements in the UK office.

Vogelmann Promoted at Hatteland Display

Hatteland Display, made several sales level appointments. Goetz Vogelmann, a Hatteland Display employee for the past six years, was appointed as Sales Director Commercial. Vogelmann joined Hatteland Display after five years at LCD manufacturer, Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe. Knut Vidar Lauritsen, President of Hatteland Display, will also take on a Business Development role. Terje Akerholt, formerly Director of Sales, Commercial Division, was appointed as Sales Manager Commercial. Akerholt joined Hatteland Display in September 2007.

Stelmar Shipping Delivers Ambermar

Stelmar Shipping Ltd. announced that it has taken delivery of the Ambermar, a newly built 35,500 dwt Panamax tanker from the STX Shipbuilding Co. ltd (ex-Daedong) in South Korea. Ambermar has entered into a previously announced 18-month time charter with FAMM, the commercial division of ChevronTexaco. Peter R. Goodfellow, Chief Executive Officer and President commented, “We are pleased to have received delivery of the Ambermar. In the first and second quarters of 2002, our company will receive delivery of three more new Panamax tankers, all of which are on time charters.
