Northrop Grumman Wins $69m Deal for Topside Program Support

Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) won a follow-on and additional task order contracts totaling $69m from the U.S. Navy's Office of Naval Research (ONR) for the Navy's Integrated Topside (InTop) program. InTop is an innovative, scalable suite of electronic warfare, information operations and line-of-sight communications hardware and software for use on naval surface platforms. The new suite will reduce the number of multiple topside apertures that naval vessels currently use, increasing bandwidth and resolving electromagnetic interference and compatibility issues caused by the large number of antennas on modern ships. BAE Systems Delivers DCGS-N to Two U.S. Navy Ships

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. – Today at the Navy League Sea Air Space Exposition, BAE Systems announced it has delivered two production units of the U.S. Navy’s primary shipboard intelligence system for U.S. naval forces, providing significantly greater intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting capability over legacy systems. The first BAE Systems-built production system of the Distributed Common Ground System-Navy (DCGS-N), is currently being installed onboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) in Norfolk, Va. The second system was delivered to the government for immediate shipment to the USS George Washington (CVN 73) in Yokosuka, Japan.

Volunteers Needed April 26 for SEA PERCH

The Sea Perch program in are in need of volunteers on April 26 to judge various competition events. The SEAPerch program is a new program in Prince William County Schools. It is a partnership between the Office of Naval Research, The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, MIT SeaGrant, Lockheed Martin, Micron Technology, SAIC, Argon ST and Prince William County Schools. The program is designed to give students enrolled in the Foundations of Technology a business applicable project that will introduce engineering concepts, robotic concepts, naval engineering, design processes, scientific processes and the incorporation of research and composition into engineering. up to volunteer.
