Port Manatee has added operations of Manatee Ship Repair and Fabrication LLC, enhancing its full-service port offerings at the entrance to Tampa Bay.

“The services offered by Manatee Ship Repair and Fabrication are an ideal complement to the extensive operations at our full-service port,” said Carlos Buqueras, Port Manatee’s executive director. “We look forward to a longstanding productive partnership with this esteemed ship repair firm.”

Manatee Ship Repair and Fabrication’s leadership offers more than 80 years of combined experience in vessel repair and fabrication, including in at-berth topside ship repairs of all kinds, ballast water treatment systems, structural fabrication, and pipe fabrication and repairs.

Port Manatee’s strategically convenient location, proximate to Gulf of Mexico shipping lanes, perfectly positions Manatee Ship Repair and Fabrication to provide its services for a full spectrum of commercial vessels – from containerships and general cargo vessels to tugboats and barges – trading in the Gulf region, as well as the U.S. Southeast and Caribbean.

Port Manatee is a full-service, multipurpose deepwater seaport with 10 40-foot-draft berths at the entrance to Tampa Bay, serving bulk, breakbulk, container, heavylift, project and general cargo customers. The port generates more than $2.3 billion in annual economic impact for the local community, while supporting more than 24,000 jobs, without levying ad-valorem taxes.
