WESMAR Adds Dealer in Italy

Italy is a region marine electronics and equipment manufacturer WESMAR has served with its roll fin stabilizers and its stainless steel counter rotating bow and stern thrusters for many years. Today, WESMAR announced a further expansion into the Italian market with the appointment of Yachtalia of Massa, Italy, as its newest international dealer. Yachtalia joins a network of hundreds of WESMAR dealers around the world. The company is situated on the Mediterranean Sea between the western coast of Italy and the islands of Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily. According to WESMAR’s International Sales Manager Michael Vourtsis, Yachalia will work closely with WESMAR’s Southern Europe Operations Manager Pierre Marachel.

Wesmar Thrusters at Work Boat Show

“Wesmar thrusters are built for the toughest of sea conditions to meet the requirements of work boats around the world. Whether working in the oil fields or elsewhere, the demands to turn in tight quarters, hold position, and dock in challenging environments are standard assignments for our powerful thruster systems,” said WESMAR Vice President Bob Sentz announcing his company’s attendance at the International Work Boat Show October 9-11 in New Orleans, LA. “We will display one of our commercial bow thrusters in the Donovan Marine Booth (#2218), our dealer in the Gulf,” said Sentz.

WESMAR to Introduce New Fin for Yachts

WESMAR (Western Marine Electronics) will introduce a 50-square-foot mega fin at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show on October 27-31 in Florida. Designed for luxury yachts, charter and super yachts, these new fins, coupled with WESMAR’s triple axis digital DSP4800 control electronics, are designed to reduce up to 90% of vessel roll. They are rugged with a neutrally buoyant design that adds lift, and are designed with added strength and reliability to meet the high performance requirements of vessels up to 250+ feet.

WESMAR Introduces New Digital Controls

WESMAR will be rolling out their complete line of Bow and Stern Thrusters, Roll Fin Stabilizers, APU systems, navigational and fish finding sonar at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show October 29 – November 2. Included will be new high speed digital controllers for the Roll Fin Stabilizers. Included in the booth will be new digital controls that expand the interfaces of the WESMAR stabilizers with onboard displays, improve fuel efficiencies on high-speed boats, add to seamless fin alignment abilities, improve stabilization by expanding gyro sampling, display pressure rate, and much more. They are also offered as an option to existing WESMAR and other stabilizer fins.

Second Longliner Installs Wesmar Stabalizers

Woodinville, WA-9 Dec. 2008- Captain Rodney McVicker is the second West Coast longliner to install Wesmar stabilizers - a set of Wesmar 16-foot roll fin stabilizers on his 61-foot F/V Sundancer. McVicker says his Wesmar stabilizers provide more comfort and lessen fatigue for his crew. The three month albacore season, running from end of June to October, requires McVicker and his crew to constantly travel at sea each day. McVicker learned about Wesmar stabilizers when Bill Hammer, owner of the F/V Silver Lady, recommended them.

Wesmar to Attend WorkBoat Show

This year, at the International Workboat Show, Wesmar will be displaying their ABS design approved DP 1 Model V2-20 NS Vortex dual prop all stainless steel bow thrusters and their Model V2-24 as well as Active Gyro Stabilizers at booth number #1441 in New Orleans Dec. 3-5. Wesmar’s counter rotating propeller design was developed to provide up to 40% more thrust with the same tunnel size and same input power.

Wesmar Roll Fin Stabilizers

When fisherman Bill Hammer installed Wesmar’s Roll Fin Stabilizers on his 56-foot Longliner, it was the first known installation of an active fin stabilization system on a fishing vessel anywhere in the world. Hammer estimates that the stabilizers saves him 10-15% in fuel costs, saying with the stabilizers he can back off the throttle by about 100-150 RPM and still maintain his original speed, therefore increasing efficiency. “By maintaining full boat speed in rough water conditions, fishing boats are more efficient and safer.

WESMAR Appoints New Dealer in Central America

Wesmar has appointed Ocean Works of Quepos, Costa Rica, as its authorized dealer covering Central America from Belize to Panama. Ocean Works will be a stocking dealer with complete parts and systems for Wesmar’s line of bow thrusters, roll fin stabilizers, and sport fishing sonars. The owner of Ocean Works is Fred Hogan, formerly a WESMAR Sales Manager for the U.S. Gulf, Mid Atlantic, and Great Lakes regions.
