Lobstermen Select IMTRA For Equipment

IMTRA announced today it has provided Offshore series LED deck lights, Exalto and Roca windshield wipers, Side-Power thrusters and Zipwake Dynamic Trim Control Systems to lobster vessels throughout New England. The newly-launched lobster boat Sailor’s Way from Stonington, Maine is the latest fishing vessel to be equipped with IMTRA gear. “The light package the IMTRA team recommended for me works so well,” said Nathan Jones, owner, Sailor’s Way. “Our commercial customersin the lobster industry tie their livelihood to the safe operation of their vessels in some of the most challenging conditions,”said Nate Cabral, Northeast commercial sales, IMTRA.

IMTRA Outfits US’ First Wind Farm Vessel

IMTRA, a manufacturer and importer of commercial marine products, has delivered equipment to the first U.S.-flagged offshore wind farm crew transfer vessel (CTV), Atlantic Pioneer. IMTRA’s scope of supply includes the Colorlight CL20 high-output searchlight, Decca Straight Line wiper system and LED deck, interior and engine room lights for the Blount Boats-built, 69-foot CTV. The vessel was locally built in Rhode Island and has been delivered to its operator, Atlantic Wind Transfers which is based in Quonset Point, R.I.

Umoe Mandal Places Order with DuroWipers

Norwegian operator Umoe Mandal has purchased six External Panorama Pantograph heavy duty windscreen wipers from U.K. based DuroWipers to equip a newbuild Surface Effect Ship (SES). Statkraft has entered into an initial six month charter agreement for the new WaveCraft vessel to transport its O&M turbine technicians to and from the Sheringham Shoal offshore windfarm off the coast of Norfolk. Lilaas Engages Imtra for North American Distribution

Prospects in the North American marine equipment market have triggered a new and distribution agreement between control specialist Lilaas AS and marine and offshore sales and support organization Imtra Corporation, of New Bedford, Mass. The deal, initially over three years, will see Imtra’s 52-man organization offering product and after sales technical support for Lilaas control levers, joysticks and rudder controls in the U.S. and Canada. Imtra’s clients include vessel operators in the commercial marine, inland waterway, fishing and offshore sectors, as well as the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S.

Wynn Wipers on Gas Power

Wynn Marine has been selected to supply the window wiper systems for the world’s only gas powered cargo vessels –Viking Energy owned by Eidsvik and Stril Pioneer from Simon Mokster Shipping. Both platform supply vessels (PSVs) were built by Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvink, Norway. They are equipped with bespoke wiper systems utilizing the Type D Straight line wiper, which is part of Wynn’s Ocean Range of wipers – targeted specifically for heavy design usage. Wiper control comes from Wynn’s Series 3000 Network Control System.

Wynn Marine Gets P&O Contract

Wynn Marine has won the contract to supply their window wiper systems for two P&O Cruise Ships currently under construction at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Shipyard, in Nagasaki, Japan. The contract is to supply 35 Type 1762 Pantograph wipers, per ship, as well as the Series 3000 Network Control System which supports the recently launched LCD Touch Screen Controller.

Wynn to Supply Offshore Patrol Vessels

Wynn marine has won the contract to supply the window wiper systems for three offshore patrol vessels (FOPV) currently under construction at Vosper Thornycroft, UK. The contract is to supply 13 Type C Straight Line Wipers to each vessel, which will be operated by the Wynn Series 2000 Controller. The Type C offers the most advanced design of linear action window wiping systems available and is one of the most popular systems in the world for providing clear viewing areas for commercial, naval and fishing vessels. Construction of the first of the three River Class FOPV's commenced at Vosper Thornycroft's Woolston shipyard in May 2001 and the first vessel will enter service with the Royal Navy in November 2002.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Awards Contract To Wynn

Wynn Marine, manufacturer of heavy duty marine window wiper systems for ocean going vessels, has been granted a contract worth more than $100,000 from Hyundai Heavy Industries in Korea. The contract calls for Wynn to supply wiper systems for two new RoPax Passenger Ships for Stena Line in Sweden. Wynn will supply more than 40 Pantograph wiper units, Type 1762 per ship. These will be controlled by the new Wynn Series 3000 Network wiper control system, which in turn will be used to control the wiper equipment as well as other equipment on the bridge such as heated windows and navigation lights.

Wynn Launches New Pantograph Wipers

Wynn Marine has developed a new Pantograph wiper system, featuring an externally mounted motor position, which is easier to fit than its predecessor, while still providing the utmost reliability and performance. The Wynn 1801 SeaHorse complete unit is fitted externally, thus reducing the need for bulkhead penetrations enabling the system to be more flexible, while avoiding conflict with other equipment fitted above or below the bridge windows. In addition to its presence on newbuilds, the 1801 is also a fitting match for vessels wanting to upgrade their wiper systems to Wynn's latest technology. Wynn Awarded Contract For HMS Enterprise and HMS Echo

Wynn Marine has won the contract to supply the wiper systems to two new survey vessels being built at Appledore Shipbuilders in Devon, U.K. The survey vessels, HMS Enterprise and HMS Echo, and will be fitted with Wynn's Straight line wiper system. The Oceanographic Survey Vessels will be 90m in length with around 3,500 tonnes displacement and are due to enter service in 2002 and 2003. HMS Echo and HMS Enterprise will represent an enhancement of the capabilities of the Royal Navy's Survey Squadron. The new 3,500 tonne ships will be equipped with the latest survey systems, including multi-beam echo sounders and modern side sonars, as well as advanced navigation and communication systems.

Wynn to Supply Wipers For RoRos

Wynn Marine has teamed up with environmentally friendly energy company, Mayflower Energy. newbuild vessel called ‘The Resolution’, which has been designed for the safe installation of offshore wind farms and is currently in production at the Shanghai Guan Shipyard in China. The state of the art self-elevating vessel has a length of 130 metres, a beam of 38m and a depth of 8m. be to install a wind farm off the coast of Scotland, where undoubtedly it will encounter rain, strong winds and high seas – which is where Wynn’s highly regarded window wiping system comes into play.
