New Crayboat Delivered to Geraldton Fisher

Geraldton-based Dave Perham, an operator from Australia’s Western Rock Lobster fishery, has taken delivery of a new lobster boat from Dongara Marine designed to have much lower fuel consumption than comparable vessels.Completed in late April 2020, some 12 months after contracts were signed, Force of Nature is a 22.4-meter Southerly Designs monohull which, like other recent Dongara Marine fishing and pilot boat newbuilds, combines an aluminum hull with a composite superstructure.The new boat is an upgrade from Perham’s current vessel…

US Leisure Boat Manufacturer's Sales Soar in Q3 2012

Marine Products Corp. announce unaudited results for the quarter ended September 30, 2012. Marine Products is a leading manufacturer of fiberglass boats under two brand names: sterndrive and inboard pleasure boats by Chaparral, including H2O Sport and Fish & Ski Boats, SSi and SSX Sportboats, Sunesta Sportdecks, Xtreme Towboats, Signature Cruisers and Premiere Sport Yachts, and outboard sport fishing boats by Robalo. For the quarter ended September 30, 2012, they generated net sales of $38,494,000, a 73.0 percent increase compared to $22,254,000 last year. The increase in net sales was due to a 125.1 percent increase in the number of boats sold, partially offset by a 23.9 percent decrease in the average selling price per boat.

Marine Products Corp Reports Successful Q2 2012 Financial Results

U.S. based Marine Products Corporation release its unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2012. Marine Products is a leading manufacturer of fiberglass boats under two brand names: sterndrive and inboard pleasure boats by Chaparral, including H2O Sport and Fish & Ski Boats, SSi and SSX Sportboats, Sunesta Sportdecks, Xtreme Towboats, Signature Cruisers and Premiere Sport Yachts, and outboard sport fishing boats by Robalo. For the quarter ended June 30, 2012, Marine Products generated net sales of $38,454,000, a 32.2 percent increase compared to $29,098,000 last year. The increase in net sales was due to a 58.6 percent increase in the number of boats sold, partially offset by an 18.1 percent decrease in the average selling price per boat.

Marine Products is a leading manufacturer of fiberglass boats under two brand names: sterndrive and inboard pleasure boats by Chaparral, including H2O Sport and Fish & Ski Boats, SSi and SSX Sportboats, Sunesta Sportdecks, Xtreme Towboats, Signature Cruisers and Premiere Sport Yachts, and outboard sport fishing boats by Robalo. For the quarter ended March 31, 2012, Marine Products generated net sales of $37,849,000, a 39.4 percent increase, compared to $27,148,000 last year. The increase in net sales was due to a 54.1 percent increase in the number of boats sold, partially offset by an 11.3 percent decrease in the average selling price per boat.

Xtreme Announces Fire-Rescue Boat Sale to CT Fire Dept.

Xtreme Companies, Inc. today announced the sale of a first responder Fire-Rescue Boat to the Squantz Engine Fire Company located in New Fairfield, CT. The sales price of the boat was approximately $70,000. Squantz Engine Fire Company Chief Pete Benzinger stated, "Our fire department tested many fireboats available in the marketplace today and found Xtreme's to be the best all around, multi-purpose marine craft. Its stability and maneuverability were superior to that of its competitors and we are confident that it will serve our purposes well."

Xtreme Delivers Patrol Boat

Xtreme Companies, Inc. delivered the First Responders' Patrol Boat to the City of Philadelphia, PA, Police Department. The boat was purchased through a grant provided by the Department of Homeland Security. Lt. Napoli of the Marine Unit of the Philadelphia Police Dept. had previously stated, "The Xtreme watercraft is responsive and can get anywhere we need to be on the water during patrol and rescue missions." The Xtreme XFR.P.15 was purchased for patrol and rescue purposes along the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers which run through the city of Philadelphia.

K-Sea's OK Seas

Even on New York harbor, where the tugs range from burly to brutish, K-Sea's biggest are easy to pick out. Standing as tall as a seven-story house, they're the white ones. Their red trim makes them all the more conspicuous, like huge decorated lateens on the horizon as they move monster barges from the Kills. For giants like these, of course, harbor chores like bunkering would be almost recreational, something to keep them exercised between the coastal jaunts for which they're designed - and for which their owners are expanding. K-Sea has a dedicated harbor fleet too. They're as brawny as any but look a little moreso - muscular, almost hulking with those white superstructures stark against the sky. K-Sea also has a pushboat, the curious Odin, odd to the eye but insistently practical.
