Executive Director of MITAGS and PMI, to Receive Achievement Award

August 28, 2003

The Kings Point Alumni Foundation Board of Directors will bestow upon two (2) MITAGS’ directors, the current incumbent Glen Paine (’78), and his predecessor, Charles (Chuck) Pillsbury (’68), the Outstanding Professional Achievement Award at the annual Alumni Banquet Dinner. This award is made to alumni of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy or the Cadet Corps on any of their five-year anniversaries. The award is presented to those, who, in the judgment of the Alumni Awards Committee, “best exemplify the finest tradition of the Corps-Acta-Non Verba” by obtaining personal achievement in their chosen field and thus lending honor and prestige to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Mr. Paine and Captain Pillsbury have been recognized by their peers as leaders in the ever-changing and challenging world of maritime education. They have ensured that these requirements have been met by participating in industry forums, developing quality programs, and committing the resources of MITAGS/PMI to their students and the maritime industry.
