Alfa Laval Acquires Niche US Company

Alfa Laval acquires US-based company Vortex Systems, a manufacturer of mixing and blending solutions for the oil & gas industry

Alfa Laval is a leading provider of specialized products and engineering solutions based on its key technologies of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling.

Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group, comments on the acquisition: “The acquisition of Vortex Systems will further strengthen our offering to the interesting oil and gas industry, both for onshore and offshore applications.”

Vortex Systems had sales of approximately SEK 100 million in 2011 and about 20 employees at its location in Huston, Texas, USA.

The intention is to integrate Vortex Systems into Alfa Laval. The company will be consolidated into Alfa Laval from June 30, 2012.

With the acquisition of Vortex Systems, Alfa Laval has acquired 32 companies during the last 6 years representing about SEK 8.5 billion in sales at the time of the acquisition.
