Jones Day Advises J.F. Lehman on Acquisitions

Jones Day has advised long-standing client J.F. Lehman & Company, a mid-market private equity firm focused on the defense, aerospace, and maritime sectors, in connection with the £32 million (approximately $50 million) acquisition and related financing of the UK, Spanish, German and Australian marine distress signals business of Chemring Marine, which designs and manufactures SOLAS and MED approved products including hand flares, linethrowers, smoke-signals, manoverboards and parachute rockets from various companies within the Chemring group, including Chemring Group Plc. The financing consisted of a secured credit facility including term loans and revolving loans.

In the last eight months, Jones Day has also advised J.F. Lehman & Company on the acquisition of Doss Aviation, Inc., a leading provider of aviation support services, and National Response Corporation, a provider of U.S. Oil Pollution Act 1990 regulatory compliance and emergency responses, and its affiliated businesses NRC Environmental Services, SEACOR Response and SEACOR Environmental Products.
