The American Shipbuilding Association (ASA) announced the election of four new Partner Advisory Council officers for calendar years 2009 and 2010.  They were elected by their fellow ASA members in the fall of 2008.

The four newly-elected officers of the Council are Pete Goumas, General Manager, The Babcock and Wilcox Company, Nuclear Operations Group, Euclid, OH; Shoun Kerbaugh, Vice President, Naval Systems/Merchant, Converteam Inc., Pittsburgh, PA; Bruce Rosenblatt, President, Bruce S. Fred Conroy, Vice President and General Manager of the Government Business Unit for Dresser-Rand, Olean, NY, will continue his role on the Council through 2009.

The mission of the Partner Advisory Council is to provide advice and counsel to the Association’s President and Board of Directors on issues of importance to the Partners in maintaining a strong shipbuilding industrial base; recommend issues to be included in the annual agenda and actions to be taken concerning said agenda; recommend actions to improve educational outreach to the public and Congress on the industry, and; improve outreach to current and potential Partners.

The American Shipbuilding Association’s mission is to educate policy makers and the American public on the need for a strong shipbuilding industrial base to build the ships that keep America secure and economically prosperous.  To this end, ASA supports a strong American Navy and Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and merchant fleet of American-built ships.
