RoRo Vessel Runs Aground in Aklan

Philippine Coast Guard Action Center Manila received report that MV Starlite Atlantic, a roro vessel ran aground at vicinity waters of Brgy Argao, Malay, Aklan around 4:30 a.m. on January 19.

Initial information from the Master of the vessel revealed that MV Starlite Atlantic with 31 crew members onboard was anchored at Caticlan Anchorage Area when its anchor chain was cut due to strong winds and big waves causing it to be dragged to its present position.

The Captain will attempt to pull the vessel from its grounding position during the highest tide.
