Woman Airlifted offshore Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Miami medically evacuated a woman 98 nautical miles northeast of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Sunday.

Watchstanders at the Coast Guard 7th District command center received a report of a woman aboard the sailing vessel Kraken who required immediate medical attention. After consulting with a flight surgeon, an aircrew from Air Station Miami was launched to medically evacuate the woman. Upon arriving on scene, the rescue swimmer deployed from the helicopter and the aircrew hoisted the woman aboard the MH-65 Dolphin helicopter.

The woman was transported to St. Mary's Hospital, for further care.
