IMarEST Appoints COO

Marine industry expert Marcus Jones has joined the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) as its first Chief Operating Officer, working closely with Chief Executive, Keith Read CBE. Jones was previously with Lloyd's Register Group where, since 2000, he was responsible for a Â£50m global oil and gas business, leading the development and implementation of global strategy and planning and delivery of the business plan. He also directed worldwide business development and the definition of the commercial, technical and marketing policies for the business, as well as technology developments and innovation. In this role he also lead the identification and progress of a number of acquisitions in strategic locations around the world.
