Transas Appoints New Sales Manager

Transas has appointed Henry Nel, as the Sales Manager for Shore- Based Systems in the USA. In his position, Henry will be responsible for increasing the sales of Transas VTS and coastal surveillance systems in North America, providing support on AIS to all Transas offices around the world and giving input to the design team on AIS related products. Moreover, Henry will be in charge of establishing a second Transas office in the USA to improve customer’ support in the regions geographically remote from the TM USA main office in Lynnwood, WA. In addition to the strong theoretical background in Electronic Engineering (Honours Degree from the University of Pretoria), Henry has a 10-years hands-on experience as a System Engineer. Within the last three years he has been working for Marine Data Systems (MDS) as System Engineer and Area Representative for the UK, Europe and Middle East. His main responsibilities included technical and sales support to distributors in the region and setting up an Area Hub office for MDS. Commenting on his new job, Henry said: ‘My very first impression of Transas was that this is a young company bringing bold innovative ideas to an old market. This attitude of “let’s lead and not follow” is very inspiring and I can’t wait to add my weight to the Transas team’.
