Meyer Werft Offers 60 Apprenticeships
May 10, 2007
Meyer Werft will offer another 60 apprenticeships as of September this year, increasing the number of young people being trained at the shipyard in various professions to 277. This announcement was made by Bernard Meyer, managing partner of the shipyard, during the inauguration ceremony for the new Visitors' Center on the yard premises.
Full order books keeping the shipyard occupied well into 2012 call for more skilled personnel. Meyer Werft allows for this challenge by training the specialists for the future. At the same time this step proves the company's attachment to the Emsland region from where some 1,000 young people have applied to the shipyard for an apprenticeship.
